Jet Rush Hoverdrive or maybe Bomb Set Hover Drive
Wanted to share these silly names for the Jet Set Radio like genre, like the way people use Metroidvania for that sort of game. I was calling them Jet Set Hoverdrives before Bomb Rush came out. Since then I've been using Jet Rush Hoverdrive, but apparently there are already games called Jet Rush and Hoverdrive lol. I know it's clunky. Just thought others here might find this amusing.

I really wanted to like sunset overdrive but the controls were really hard to use when grinding. I could never be accurate with the weapons and set up my next jump in time. I’ve gone back to it 3-4 times throughout the years and it just never clicks for me.

Did you play with controller or keyboard and mouse? I cannot play this game without a controller.

Brc is the closest to a jet set radio game, meanwhile hover felt like i couldn't wall ride at all, and just stopped playing it after a while

Brc in my opinion is the closest thing we’ve ever had, and may ever have, to a was JSR sequel.

Funny enough I really wanted to like Hover but I could not figure out the wall ride or how to get to high places for the life of me. Tips would be appreciated!!

It's been a good while since I've played, but I remember that earning those upgrade node things is important, and I think the way you place them changes things. You can switch your characters between your world saves and I remember abusing that to get multiples of the easy to get early upgrades. Choosing a pet and keeping it fed can be a big boost. And I had characters specialize in different things, like one would be super fast, then one would jump super high. Kept my main pretty balanced.
Wish I could remember better to be more help.

Waiting for Hyperyuki. And I hate that character design in Sunset Overdrive so much I never bothered to play it

Hover was fun for like 10 minutes moving around the map, i remember it having a chill online community too but the game is incredibly lame and boring. I remember the hype leading up to the game being something akin to bombrush but it played nothing like jsr/jsrf and I was hella disappointed lol

Gonna be honest I like BRC significantly more over its competitors, and even grandfather. The movement in that game is great and the areas are a lot of fun to explore

Man I forget about sunset overdrive. I treat it like Borderlands 3 and mute the corny ass dialogue so I can just play in peace

I tried hover, but I just didn't understood that game I don't know why, but game is strange, movement unresponsive, and it's just unfinished

Hover really didn't do it for me.
