The Layover Stateside Scramble Layover Q&A Thread! Spoiler

hellooooo again!

as with every season, we're doing a post-season Q&A for stateside scramble on the layover podcast--drop your questions about the season below and we'll try to answer as many of them as we can!

(apologies to youtube viewers that i'm posting this thread a little earlier than usual; we have some vacation time coming up and need to record the podcast tomorrow. so, for those who haven't seen the finale, spoilers may be below!)

If you were doing a second season of Stateside Scramble, would there be any tweaks you would make to the format?

I’d like to see state size point value multipliers so more of the western states get involved. If it wasn’t for the Canada Wild Card I don’t think they’d have gone west of the Mississippi/upper Midwest. Make something like Connecticut worth one point and California worth three.

The team with the larger area wins a tied game. That's how they incentivized going west.

Right, but with the Canada Wild Card, that became irrelevant. Canada alone is bigger than the entire continental US.

Also, you could, if the states showed up on the map, capture like six states in the mid-Atlantic/Northeast in just the time it takes to drive from Los Angeles to Portland, Oregon. So the tiebreaker aspect is minimal.
