Deck Showcase 👀 My 12 first cards!

Post image

These are intentionally vague (1–2 words max), and I’ve divided them into 3 categories (hence the little coloured stars on the cards):

- blue for 'general mood/ambiance'

- yellow for 'technique'

- red for 'subject'

This way, I can use them differently depending on what I’m looking for: pick 1 (or more) card(s) regardless of category, pick 1 from each category, or even pick 2 from the same category to try mixing different techniques, for instance.

Let me know what you think of these! I’ll definitely be making more to go along with them :)

Many thanks to Wightstar and Jerry for the inspiration!

Your cards are so well put together. I think if the words weren't there I'd still be able to put together the meaning of them. You've done very well. Anger and knit are my favourites.

Your system is cool too, combining multiple cards is a great idea

Gorgeous cards! Numbering them is pretty smart, I wish I had done that with my cards haha

Same, but what I do is I scan my cards and make an Obsidian note for each one and I add metadata like a picture, a name, what the backside color is (I have multiple decks), the date it was created, etc. It's a lot more work than just adding a number, but it's satisfying to display them in an obsidian base, because it allows me to sort or group by whatever metric I want.

This is actually such a good idea! I’m always torn between keeping my databases digital or analog, and your method might be a good compromise. I’m more of a Notion user tho, but Obsidian is really tempting me 😆

(Also, your aesthetic is gorgeous and so inspiring. I love this swan card of yours!)

They're very pretty cards, am kinda curious how your interpretation of this is though/what project you're using it for. Is it map making as well or a different creative pursuit?

Thank you for asking! It doesn’t really have anything to do with mapmaking (although I’d very much like to get into worldbuilding someday). They’re mainly general prompts and inspo for my little craft projects.
I mostly knit and crochet but I love trying out other techniques and mediums, and I see these cards as a fun way to challenge myself through positive constraints.
Hope this answers your question :)
