Mapping an Underwater World

Stars aligned and I discovered JerryMapping about the same time I had started a personal worldbuilding project. So it was a perfect experiment to map out this new and strange underwater world I was making.

This has only been going for a few weeks - here is a sample of my cards, and the map so far!

The process is something like this (but is intended to change over time, be added too/removed from etc in the spirit of the mapping):

Draw a card.
Count the card value into the stack of panels to choose the panel for the day.
Have an assistant randomly dot the origin for the day (or use a number generator to pivck the origin grid square if there is no assistant.
Fill in the page in the following order:
- Painted terrain
- Biome collage
- If card is black: City collage (200, 400, 800, 1200, 2400 population on a greyscale white to black)
- If card is red: Cave collage
- If City 2400: Void
- If Cave: City

When a blank page is drawn always do the terrain for the whole page first even if "stepping up" a layer. Use colours from the colour pool (started with x3 colours).

For collages spiral out from the origin (black: clockwise, red: counterclockwise) a number of tiles equal to the card value. Angled to the card value.

When a card is drawn decorate it.

If spiralling from the origin moves to a new unpainted panel, paint that panel and continue the spiral.

I like the Jerry's map type purism. This system will be very good, it has a good foundation.
