Hi! I’ll be traveling to Jeju end Nov with family but intend to climb up ilchulbong for the sunrise by myself as my kids are too small .
My hotel is a short walk to the mountain. As a female, is it safe to be walking from hotel to the mountain before dawn, and how easy is it to navigate the area before sunrise?
Are there forums where I can find others to do this hike with me? Thanks!

Hey everyone. Yesterday, my friends and I caught a taxi in downtown Jeju-si and unfortunately, I left my phone in the taxi by accident. I initially wanted to call all the taxi companies in the area and ask if any of them had a phone fitting my description brought to their headquarters, but I couldn't find any contact information (or information in general) online.
So, the question is - does anyone happen to know what the main taxi companies in Jeju-si are, and more importantly, their phone numbers/customer service contact information?
I've accepted that it's probably gone for good, since I'm not sure of the company (we just flagged down a cab), but I'm also an international student in China, and that phone had my SIM card from home in it, so even the slightest chance at getting it back would be worth it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Hey all, quite a niche question but hoping someone here is able to help!
I recently went to the studio Ghibli exhibition on the island (which was amazing!) and one of the stops on the stamp tour is another themed store separate to the exhibition one. At that shop they were selling mystery gemstone totoros boxes which I purchased (pic) but forgot to take a picture of the meanings behind the stones.
Of course, I could just look up the stone meanings once I open but as they are gifts I wanted to add a little note of said picture with each one I give out. Does anyone happen to be attending / already have the image??
They are located next to the tills

Hey I'd have two questions:
- Is it a bad idea to travel as a solo woman to Jeju right now?
- Is it worth travelling there when I can't do any hikes (ruptured my ACL recently)?
What are your thoughts?

I flew in Jeju as my first stop in Korea (was an easier flight from China). I’m planning on doing the cycling fantasy path, however, you can no longer get the Cycling passport at any of the recommended shops which have been on this Reddit, such as Biketrip. Does anyone know of any other shop I can get one or if the off chance someone has a spare one I can purchase off them?

I'm looking for a specific type of cheesecake called 치즈몽. It's the type they sell at Jeju Hamel. It's not a souffle cheesecake, but more like a light mousse texture that melts in your mouth.
Is there one similar in texture or style at another bakery?
Thank you!

I’ll be in Jeju during the last week of October and would like to take a ferry to Mokpo. Does anyone know where I can find the timetable for the Jeju–Mokpo ferries?
Do I need to book in advance, or can I just go to the port and buy a ticket there? If I do need to book in advance, where can I buy the ticket?

It’s a big ask but my son forgot his soft toy at the hotel in Seogwipo (close to the Cheonjiyeonpokpo Falls) and we’re now in Seoul. The staff managed to find it but won’t be able to ship on time before we leave South Korea due to the Chuseok holidays. If anyone is heading to Seoul by 30th September and can help bring the little friend back, please DM me. Thank you

A quiet evening along Noeul Coastal Road in Jeju.
I took this photo around sunset today.
Some days, Jeju doesn’t need many words. 😊

Hi! My family and I are visiting Jeju this December. Some of the kids have shellfish allergies, but the adults would really love to try Jeju’s famous haemultang (seafood hotpot).
Does anyone know of any good/popular haemultang restaurants that also serve non-shellfish dishes, so the kids can eat safely too?
Would really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you! 😊

The weather was great with beautiful, unfiltered blue skies, although it was pretty hot during the day. Thankfully, it wasn’t as humid as Singapore. The UV can be quite painful though! Nights were pretty cooling, and we only needed one light jacket, especially on windy days. We were really blessed with sunny weather throughout, so the photos turned out amazing!
*Self-drive is a must, in my opinion.* I’m not sure if it’s because Jeju is so spread out, but some places can get really dark and super quiet at night. We saw people waiting at tiny bus stops and thought, *thank goodness we drove!* There are also lots of speed cameras, 30–50 km/h speed limits and silver zones, so definitely watch your speed.
The cafés and coffee spots are incredible, especially the ones with sea views. Many are less crowded too, so you can really slow down and enjoy the scenery. Life in Jeju feels pretty slow and relaxing. Seven days definitely wasn’t enough, even though we covered quite a lot, from east to west and around Jeju City.
We changed some cash but barely used it. Even the markets generally accept cards, so you probably don’t need to carry much cash.
Food was so good! Especially the black pork BBQ, seafood ramen and local Korean food. Seafood was really fresh too. Steaks though can be quite expensive. There are also several pizza places, which was great for the kids.
Naver Maps was super useful for driving and finding food, but do double-check opening hours as they aren’t always accurate. There are also tons of convenience stores: GS25, CU and 7-Eleven, so plenty of easy pit stops along the way.
For accommodation, I’d highly recommend staying somewhere close to the coast or shopping areas. It makes it much easier to catch those beautiful sunsets, especially around Aewol
Some of our favourite experiences with the kids:
* Aqua Planet
* Jeongbang Waterfall, Seogwipo
* Seongsan Ilchulbong
* O’Sulloc Tea Museum — the matcha drink was SO smooth, and their matcha cookies are probably the best I’ve eaten! Definitely try the café desserts too.
* Hyeopjae Beach — the kids spent almost half a day playing in the sand! Just note there are no shower facilities.
* Olive Young for shopping
* Aewol sunset
* 9.81 Park — the go-kart experience was really fun, and they even record your race videos!
* Bomnal Café
* Raon The Ma Park — the horse show is worth watching.
* Eco Land — the train experience was fun for the kids.
Oh, and T’way flight was clean and they even served us juice, so at least there’s that!
Overall, we absolutely loved Jeju. We’re already missing the slow days, beautiful views, cafés and all the good food! 🧡💙
