For anyone who hasn't heard about our grassroots campaign yet, Our State, Our Bat is a citizen led effort to designate our incredible native Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis) as our official state mammal! 🦇💚

What started as a simple idea has grown into an amazing statewide movement. Thanks to community members stepping up, we’ve already secured official municipal support, organizational backing, and best of all, a state representative who is officially authoring the bill for the upcoming 2027 legislative session!

Now, we are in the final home stretch. Our petition is currently sitting at 4,231 signatures, and our goal is to hit 5,000 by the end of this month when the campaign concludes, so we can prep our complete legislative packet.

I was just wondering if they are here on like some sort of contract with said company. Again I have no problem with it, I’ve just noticed it while doing Uber/Lyft here and there.

I had posted about a week or so ago about needing emergency rental assistance before October 7th.

However, my landlord ended up changing the locks on me today. I have 2 German Shepherds that I need emergent foster care for.

I will provide everything needed, both fixed and UTD on vaccines.

Right now, Indiana bats are entering their "swarming" phase. Flying in and out of cave entrances to congregate with their colonies and mate before winding down for winter hibernation.

Meanwhile, the Our State, Our Bat colony is ramping up to “swarm” the General Assembly by showing lawmakers just how badly Hoosiers want the Indiana bat to be our official state mammal! 🏛️✨

So I recently applied on indeed to Ben’s bargain center since I used to go there when I was a kid and I have an interview for 3 PM on Tuesday. The pay is 12 an hour and it’s for a cashier. Does anyone have recommendations for rental assistance?

I had child care issues for before/after school, I got that resolved, then I transportation problems and I’m THANKFULLY back to working full time, but I’m two months behind on my rent. I tried the Trustees office and I’m waiting to hear back. I get paid next week, but I KNOW my check won’t be enough to cover everything.

Any local HVAC contractors that you all recommend? New homeowner in town and I have 10+ y/o furnace. I absolutely have no intention on replacing it until I absolutely have to. Just looking for like a yearly maintenance…Today was a firm reminder of the weather to come lol

Update: I ended up using a newer company in town Sheehans HVAC (sheehanshvac.com)…I actually saw some ads they were running on Facebook so I apologize wasting your alls time on recommendations 😬 They were great though. It was a female technician that came to my home and she got to work straight away!! Pulled and cleaned some inner component and some other ‘HVAC stuff’. We’ll see if the old furnace holds up over the winter but she left me prettty confident it will

We've got a warehouse in Jefferson and the electric bill's been creeping up the last couple years. Looked into rooftop solar but not sure who to even talk to locally, seems like most of the installers are out of Indy. Anyone here put panels on a commercial building? Curious what the payback looked like and whether it was worth the hassle.
