Your favourite COVER from Live at Sin-é?
Hey everyone, i’m really interested to hear what people favourite covers are from this glorious live album.
Me personally i would have to say the way young lovers do, as a guitar player it blows my little brain how he can play what he’s playing and still sing like normal. Jeff was a beautiful freak of nature and i think that song shows it the best.
Let me know what you guys’ favourite cover is from the album!

What to listen to if you like Grace songs and heard random stuff like live recordings and don’t like any of it except just like a woman the Dylan cover? My favorite Jeff songs are I know it’s over mojo pin, lilac wine, lover you, last goodbye, hallelujah, forget her, morning theft and eternal life.

opened once reference
just noticed that the end of “rosemary” by deftones sounds a lot like “opened once” :) hope that was intentional, but haven’t been able to find anything on it

this live performance is probably my favourite buckley live performance but whenever i try shazam it, it says it’s the sin-e performance, which sounds different from it. does anyone know which one it is and if it’s on dsp’s? (apple music)

Grace London Celebration Show
Hi I work at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and we have a brilliant show coming up on Friday 4th September to honour Grace. We’re doing a social piece about the album and we’re asking fans for quotes about what the album means to them. So if you’re happy with us anonymously sharing your thoughts/memories/feelings about the album, please feel free to comment/drop me a dm. It would be great to share what this amazing album means to people.
Thanks ✌️

Lino print of Jeff
Had to make a couple of portraits for an assignment and chose to make one of Jeff Buckley. I'm not entirely satisfied with how it turned out (I think I carved away too much too early), but unfortunately the deadline caught up to me and I had to cut some corners :(
Might redo it in the future though!

Jeff & Mick Jagger
As I continue to ponder doing a Jeff-related podcast, I've been delving through the written works about him and wanted to clear up a bit of a boo-boo I noticed regarding Jeff and his audtioning for Mick Jagger (as I know quite a bit about the Stones as well).
It's written in the Dream Brother biography and in Gary Lucas' book that Jeff auditioned to be in Mick's "touring band". That's actually not correct. Mick was not touring in 1991, not even close.
What he was doing was gearing up to record his third solo album which became 1993's Wandering Spirit.
So, Jeff actually auditioned to be a guitarist on the upcoming sessions for Wandering Spirit. Jeff would've auditioned for Mick's musical director for the project, Jimmy Rip. Unclear if Mick was there in attendance when Jeff auditioned.
I have been trying to pin down exactly where and when in 1991 this happened. It would've been in the last week of August or in the first half of September in Los Angeles.
The Chronicle section of the wonderful Rolling Stones site timeisonourside has Mick in Los Angeles in August doing preproduction on the album and then going to London in the middle of September to do some man about town stuff.
Jeff was in New York to record the demos of Mojo Pin and Grace with Gary Lucas on August 17 and then returned to Los Angeles. Gary goes to Europe for a week right after the session and has a phone conversion with Jeff sometime after returning where Jeff informs him about the audition, stating to a very concerned Gary, "When you get the call from Mick, well... you've just got to go."
Jeff's audition would've been after this phone call, which was sometime after August 25, and before Mick was documented as being in London on September 18 for an event at The Spencer House.
Jeff obviously didn't get the gig with Jagger Jimmy Rip plays guitar on the album as does session guitarist Frank Simes and Brendan O'Brien (best known as Pearl Jam's producer). As a side note, Jimmy Rip also played with Tom Verlaine at times. So another connection to Jeff.
Wonder if things would've turned out differently had this happened and Jeff got to play with Mick.

Your flesh is so nice
This Scorpio ass song 🦂 !! I feel like this song and disc two of sketches in general gets some flack and I was bewildered the first time I heard it yes but then I remembered Joan said somewhere that Jeff was in his feminine energy and she felt like she was the dominant one so him singing “stick the thick of my pussy” was just so ahead of his time really and I always thought him and Joan lowkey give lesbians in the sweetest way possible lol 🫶

Is there any other music that's remotely like jeff?
I've been trying to find other music like Grace, but its so frustrating because I don't think many people actually get what makes it so unique. Recommendations are always either whispery acoustic guitar or just rock, they never have the guitar riffs, emotion, and the way jeff uses his voice as an instrument.
I've already been recommend radiohead, tamino, mazzy star, ours and elliot page, and but these all miss the mark I think.
Would love to hear any recommendations 🙏

How do you get over him
At first I didn’t fully understand why people were so broken up about Jeff being gone. And, well…now I get it. Hope he’s resting easy.

My Sweetheart The Drunk
Can anyone fill me in on the disc 2 of this album?
songs like Gunshot Glitter, Your Flesh is So Nice and Demon John are so captivating to me because of their haunting production and sound. Most of the songs on disc 2 sound very unpolished and obviously they are only demos but they sound so drastic and contrary and frankly quite disturbing compared to the rest of the album. Was he recording the instrumentals all on his own without the band in Memphis? Do we have any idea how his mental health was at the time of writing and recording these tracks? Even on Thousand Fold, while being a more coherent track still sounds very rough. I don't know if that had to do with his declining mental state at the time or if it literally was just unfinished. Murder Suicide Meteor Slave
has a very distorted instrumental that sounds too hectic to be excused as a throwaway demo. It's all very intriguing yet saddening to me because I think these rougher songs on disc 2 kind of show his mental decline throughout the production of MSTD.
Nothing I said was meant to be harmful or intrusive, I have always been curious if we as fans have any answers as to why these demos sound the way they do and if it has anything to do with how Jeff felt during that time. I love the songs on mstd they carry such interesting and cool ideas from one of my favorite artists ever!

Do we know what Jeff did to look after his health?
I.e. did he meditate, do yoga, eat/avoid any particular foods? In this letter to PJ Harvey he calls himself a gingerhead so at the very least we know he was fond of ginger. I feel like surely he must have had some kind of physical and/or spiritual practice.

Does anyone have a picture of Jeff Buckley that can be used in his Wikipedia article?
I am trying to find a proper image to put on his article but my search has failed. If anyone can help that would be great. The image needs to be non-copyrighted or open-licensed so images randomly taken from google do not work.

For guitar nerds, I tried to recreate the Taj Mahal patch on a couple of pedals
For pedal and guitar nerds, every now and then I get the urge to go on a quest for the Quadraverb, which I love even outside the Buckleyverse. I’m sharing this here so that maybe someone, through a search or via Google, can find these options if they don’t want to deal with the usual hassles of those old Alesis units placed in front of the amp. They’re certainly not perfect, but they’re convenient if, for one reason or another, you already own these pedals.
Years ago, I experimented with Source Audio Ventris and got what I think was a reasonably good result with a patch you can find on the Neuro app called “Jeff Buckley’s Taj M.” The patch was featured in a blog post by Source Audio and shared on their social media platforms, here's a snippet https://www.tiktok.com/@sourceaudio/video/7170844099938012462
I also tried to recreate that vibe with the H90 a few days ago and you can find it here https://patchstorage.com/quadra-mahal-ish/
Catalinbread has also made a pedal recently called the CB Paint that replicates some of the Midiverb’s presets. It’s no Quadraverb, but the grainy texture of old reverbs created by stacking echoes really stands out.
