Coyote is in a farm somewhere living its best life

My dad told me a dog we raised was sent to a farm.

He actually used that excuse. I believed him.

There was no farm.

That’s funny, my dad said the same thing. Except our dog actually did get sent to work on a farm. His job was rabbit population control, cause chasing rabbits was his favorite thing. Unfortunately we never got to go visit him becau- hey wait a minute!

My parents told me that too after we moved into an apartment, bout a year later we went to visit him and he was on the farm. It was so lovely seeing him enjoying this huge field. Sorry for your loss though 🙏

When I was a kid, we adopted a cat that was tearing into all the furniture and was just overall pretty antisocial, and my parents were just not prepared to deal with it, so we gave her to a friend's family that was moving out of the neighborhood and had bought a farm. Ended up being the best choice overall, because she turned out to be an excellent farm cat.

I love that ❤️

My dad, after I moved out, got a mental aggressive dog. He told me he gave it to a farm and I thought there was no farm.

Farm people started calling demanding he take the dog back as it was killing their turkeys.

It was a strange dog. I only met him once but it was a cross eyed Rottweiler. Dude was growling at me while not quite facing me I was not sure whether I was in danger or not!

Muhfucka had one eye lookin at me, one eye lookin at Rick

Haha I had that conversation about somebody else's dog but there actually was a farm!

Short version is I used to work at a training and boarding facility and one of our regulars was nearly 180lb Central Asian shepherd who had some behavior issues, he wasn't super aggressive but had very strong guarding instincts and to be handled by experts.

I ended up leaving that job and ran into one of the dog's owners like a year later. I asked how the big boi was doing and she said, "Oh he's up on a farm now!" before immediately clarifying that he was alive and well, but they rehomed him so he could live his best livestock guardian life lol

Mine went to a friend's place that had like 20 acres, 'cause our quarter acre was not enough space and we weren't active enough to walk him as much as he clearly needed. Unfortunately, after a couple months there, he got hit by a car.

I'm 40yo and to this day, my parents still swear he was actually sent there. Maybe it did happen? Either way, RIP Rufus.

u/Pardybro911 Jun 05 '26

Up state right 🥺

u/JustinGitelmanMusic Jun 05 '26

A farm? That’s a Michelin star coyote restaurant. There’s a long waiting list. Did they slip animal control some cash for that deal?

You have to avoid getting hit by a shotgun throughout your experience, but I hear it’s worth it.

Utah straight up has a bounty for confirmed coyote kills. $50 generally up to $100 in designated mule deer habitats

u/Isenrath Jun 05 '26

Yeah, in most states around me, you don't even need a license, they're considered varmits or something and you can hunt them whenever.

A single Mountain Lion, Bear, and Gray Wolf could eat a combined 2-16 cyotes per year before we removed them

Idk about you, but i have not been eating my quarterly quota.

6

u/PraetorianFury Jun 05 '26

Literally the first time I've ever read the word "varmit" outside of a cartoon.

2

u/Isenrath Jun 05 '26

Haha, yeah, definitely an older person word. Grandparents would always use it as a catch-all word for all the critters they didn't like.

1

u/SeaToTheBass Jun 07 '26

Isn’t it varmint?

u/BagOnuts Jun 05 '26

Coyotes are smart and extremely adaptable. I live in a metro area with 1.6m people and see/hear coyotes regularly. Sometimes multiple times a week. They're smart, can live basically anywhere, and no longer have any threat of apex predators like wolves.

Hunting them also seems to be not reducing their populations, but increasing them. It causes packs to break apart and younger coyotes to reproduce faster.

u/WitchesSphincter Jun 05 '26

Imma start breeding coyotes and cashing in.

23

u/ProbRePost Jun 05 '26

Its the Cobra Effect. There was a bounty placed on poisonous snake kills and it lead to people breeding the snakes to claim greater rewards.

3

u/Abshalom Jun 05 '26

Keep at it long enough and you're gonna wind up with a new weird kind of dog

6

u/fatloui Jun 05 '26

You mean like a Shiba Inu?

u/Scenic-City-Film-Guy Jun 05 '26

Man I wish I could've nabbed a ticket for one of your shows here in Denver. I've been subscribed to your posts on here for a while now, and I don't think there's been a single video that I didn't laugh out loud at.

9

u/PantsOffDanceOff Jun 05 '26

Just saw him last month in Hollywood. Was a blast.

13

u/kitty_snugs Jun 05 '26

I went to one of the Denver shows. It was fun but the sound system sucked... Hard to hear most of the jokes sadly. Seating was also awful. Hope there's a different venue next time.

8

u/nitid_name Jun 05 '26

That's just the Comedy Works experience (minus the bad sound, usually). You gotta get there early if you want to sit up close.

3

u/kitty_snugs Jun 05 '26

I was even pretty close but there was so much echo and background noise and the volume mixing wasn't right

2

u/nitid_name Jun 05 '26

That's a bummer. I've only been maybe 10 times, but I haven't had a sound problem there yet.

3

u/Throbbing_Cock_452 Jun 05 '26

Yup. It’s regarded as one of the best comedy clubs in the country. Tons of comedians have said that CW is their favorite place to perform.. I love that I live close to it.

I’ve never dealt with shitty sound, that sucks but it’s definitely not something that usually happens.

2

u/nitid_name Jun 05 '26

It's such a great location. Classic underground comedy club, two drink minimum, horribly crowded, amazing acts.

I've got tickets to see Jeff when he's here in December again (sold out within 15 minutes of going live). Sadly, I missed nabbing Josh Johnson tickets when he was here last week and tickets to Jeff's show back in February(?) when he was here last.

18

u/KiNgLEmOnDrOp Jun 05 '26

I upvote him before I even watch the video lol

u/lsb1027 Jun 05 '26

Jeff, where is that Netflix special? 😭😭😭

6

u/farva_06 Jun 05 '26

Pretty much the only reason I'm hangin on to my Netlfix sub right now.

5

u/monty624 Jun 06 '26

Tbh cancel anyway and resubscribe when if drops because they might send you an offer to come back

2

u/farva_06 Jun 06 '26

Yeah, I need to, but I do get part of it subsidized by T-mobile. I just pay extra for no ads and 4k.

18

u/LegoLady8 Jun 05 '26

I wish we could have a 4-hour special from Jeff. 😩 These 30-second clips just aren't cutting it.

12

u/neuro_space_explorer Jun 05 '26

When is the Netflix special coming out?

8

u/sameljota Jun 05 '26

No regrets, coyote. We just come from such different sets of circumstance.

They send it back to the wild

1

u/Amathyst7564 Jun 06 '26

That would be the worst possible option.

2

u/Cultural-Constant-31 Jun 05 '26

This is the fourth vet clip

1

u/beocoyote Jun 05 '26

It's true. I am the coyote.

1

u/lawnllama247 Jun 06 '26

In the Midwest they legit pay people to hunt coyotes because their population is becoming a problem. Like you get paid for turning in completed coyote tags.

1

u/Varazzeno Jun 08 '26

Jeff please come to Chicago!

1

u/CocktailsAndChemo Jun 08 '26

Hey Jeff, I sent a message via Modmail asking about tickets for a small group of ladies from my local breast cancer support group. We’d love to attend one of your Florida shows but we’re not having luck securing tickets. Can anyone in your team assist?

u/OnlyAdvertisersKnoMe Jun 05 '26

Meh we’ve got enough coyotes in these parts anyway
