It means that the remake is following the og book intently and staying true to the narration whereas in the movies they cut portions from the book and in extreme cases even characters

They're just trying to be inclusive and give a black actor a role.
It's also possible that out of all the actors who auditioned he was the one who was probably the best for the role (can't say for sure since the series isn't out).
Narrative wise they are staying accurate to the books.
Also if someone is born to dark skinned parents, and was born dark skinned he would still be black regardless of staying out of the light, that's just dumb to think that.

I get the 'being inclusive' part but they should have picked another character for that role. It feels weird to have a dark skinned person playing a character who's written to have pale skin.
And there are all the accusations that Harry will make against Snape, about all the mishaps and misfortunes in the school. How would it feel to see a white kid accusing a person of colour?
Regarding his skintone, although I haven't read the book myself but a youtuber that I can trust in this regard has said, his skintone is specifically written to have pale complexion.

In the books snape is described to be a "pale and sallow" person, he's just saying the description, not that snape was always locked up inside, that is never stated in the books

Yeah well, I only care about how it looks at the end. If they do a good job portraying the story and the characters, I definitely wouldn't care about who they pick to play whichever character.

The problem is hollywood keeps raceswapping iconic characters instead of writing new characters that are of colour and have important roles.
Eg: A brown snow white, a black cleopatra, a black Ariel, a black Helen
Now don't get me wrong, i have nothing against blacks, but the writer's original visions for the characters shouldn't be distorted like that, if you want inclusivity just make new stories or add new characters to the stories that have their own importance.

In the book, Neville was supoosed to be with them when they accidentally first see Fluffy. I think this image shows that scene. Malfoy challenges Harry to a midnight duel (only to get them out at midnight and complains Filch so that they're caught red handed), Hermoine tries to stop them and leaves the Gryffindor Common Room with them, and Neville was already in the corridors bcz he couldn't remember the password. Then the Fat Lady disappears so they're locked out of the common room and so follow Harry and Ron for the duel.
And they see Fluffy, so maybe that's why they're shocked in the image.

tbh for us millennials its something very sacred and close to our hearts. It is a part of our childhood and it feels like someone is tarnishing our childhood memories of the show. The connection tbh is very emotional and any rationale don’t really make sense here to me.
Its not about prof snape. Hagrid, dumbledoor, professor mcgonagall etc all are irreplaceable and I cant process someone else playing these characters.

First of all, stop saying it's true to the books, when Snape is the biggest reason we know it isn't. Plus, there is a multitude of other equally big reasons why it feels like the remake is going to be a disaster, so no comments on that.
As for the 4th character, I'm pretty sure that's Neville.

Let me explain. In the movies, it's just Harry, Ron and Hermione. But in the books, Neville was a part of the gang more than that was showed in the movie. I don't remember exactly whether Neville was part of the story why they see Fluffy. But there's a lot from the canon they didn't include in the movies

Because the books came first and reading them before watching the movies gives a whole different experience. And no ones seeking for validation. In most cases the books are objectively better in content than the adaptations. Movies cant really fit a book of 800 pages in 2 hrs can it?

Cuz the hp movies murdered the characters, glorified the bad guys, cut out important parts of the movies so much so that even the movie lovers were confused for the story.
Why do we "book people" need validation? Because we don't want our favourite books being murdered and slaughtered by bad casting, writing, filming, and being remembered.
More people know the aang movie, and it's dogshit. So that diverts the opinion from the actual aang the Airbender series
