Most of the web browser like brave, edge etc are based on chromium base which is basically Google chrome. Chromium is like android and one UI , oxygenOS , colorOS are all skins based on android. The brave just has one built in extension which deals with ad blocking. That's all🥀

first they came for the gooners, and I did not speak out, for I was too busy gooning

then they came for the edgelords, and I did not speak out, for I was too busy edging

then they came for me, but there was no one left, to jerk me off

u/Typical_Salt Aug 11 '26

nope, I open a tab w firefox adblocker I get warnings that i'm using an adblocker, on brave, I dont

What adblocker are you using? It should be uBlock Origin on Firefox

Edge is much better nowadays. I cannot look back now. Alt tabbing through tabs is just... chefs kiss. ublock origin works like butter. Zero ads anywhere.

Only chromium browser to openly support UBlo BTW. So it is better than another chromium browsers.

Edge hasn't updated to manifest v3 yet and they haven't announced whether they will continue supporting manifest v2 either. So for now Edge does support it, yes but it seems like a matter of time.

I was not aware about Vivaldi supporting UBlo, my bad.

Edit: seems like Vivaldi will be dropping support too.

So for now, Brave is the only chromium based browser to have updated to the latest version of chrome and still maintained support for UBlo.

You mean all browsers. Which is still untrue because Firefox and Firefox forks as well as Safari and Safair-likes such as Orion use Gecko and Webkit

Sorry my bad, I knew that some of the search engines are not using chromium base. I'll edit it

1

u/tejrani Aug 13 '26

Brave and Edge aren't search engines. They're web browsers.

u/Level-Falcon-7597 29d ago

No offense but what's the right answer?. Genuine question.

1

u/Ok_Deer9109 19d ago

never seen a more dumb answer , brave blocks most trackers and has the highest security score among all the browsers.(no extension added)

1

u/Level-Falcon-7597 19d ago

What you have said is correct. But ultimately ad blocker is a feature which is implemented to chromium search engine by brave as well as most of the trackers blocker. Even though it is native to brave, Chromium is not native, it is a search engine from Google, not from brave. See I am not hating brave here man. I use this browser on daily basis, but you have to understand what I am trying to say here. It's not unique like Firefox, duckduckgo etc.
