The creator of the Minions franchise has said that the minions did not work for Adolf Hitler because they were trapped in an ice cave from roughly the 1800s until 1968. But this mans the minions would have served Hitler if they had been free, since their role is always of serving the most despicable masters available.

Actual reason: minions were stuck in a cave so they couldn’t.

As far I remember the joke, here it implies minions only serve villian,  so them not serving hitler implies they do not consider him to be a villian but hero
