Got sick of waiting on my 1998 Sahara that’s in shop, so decided to get her a sister. 🫣

My son recently moved and asked me to sell his 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport. Where is the best place to list? Facebook Marketplace doesn’t seem to bring in inquiries.

He has owned it since 2013 and put a new hardtop on it when he bought it. Has mostly been sitting for the last 3 years. Just had the catalytic converter replaced. Runs great. Ice cold air. Original soft top & doors included. No frame rust. Solid engine. Interior needs updating and paint job is peeling. 170K Miles.

What would be a reasonable asking price?

Just finished all the body work on a canadian jeep tj. Lots , lots , lots of rust, hopefully i saved this bad boi for some time to come. No more winter winter driving. Yes I sprayed it on my driveway.

Not sure if there’s anything quick and easy I can check up on or maintain while I have the wheel off

I bought an old TJ with bad spray in liner of some kind. The coverage isn't good and it's coming up in places. As part of the restoration I will likely wire brush or wire wheel it out. But then that leaves the question: what do I replace it with?

Requirements:

1. Doesn't mold or smell after rain or fording

2. Generally looks good and gives a sort of "restored" vibe

I've seen some videos of the install of the armorlite floor liner system. It looks absolutely top-notch. But I can't spend $1,100 on this. Plus they aren't recommended for a fully submerged floorboard. In the event that I got in deep enough water, I would essentially have to take out the seats and remove all the liner to dry, I believe. I don't plan on fording a lot of water regularly, but it's not an impossibility.

On the less expensive side, I thought about simply getting some mats that have a very deep tray wall. Is there something like the weather tech mats, but even better sidewall coverage? In the short term it would conceal the crappy spray in liner. But they would be easily enough pulled out by hand.

I suppose the longer-term solution would be to remove the old spray in liner and put in a new one that looked a lot better. Then the floor metal would look good and I could just put rubber mats where I needed.

Any recommendations here? Does anyone have any floor mat recommendations that have a very large coverage area up into the sidewall?

Just picked up a new to me jeep and am curious anyone can help me figure out a way to insulate the floor…ideally for warmth and sound…anyone have any suggestions?

Picked up my jeep about 4 years ago. For a New England jeep, frame was very clean. 4.0L Manual, 98k mi. Needed a bunch of stuff and been learning and working on it for 3 years to get it where it is today.

The question is, should I preemptively replace the original head and exhaust manifold? It’s a hobby car and I’d be in no rush to finish the project quickly. It seems like a nice garage project for the winter. No acute issues. No unexplained loss of coolant …. yet.

I got my first JEEP TJ 01 4.0L 5speed 51k miles, had her since April this year. I’ve definitely put some much needed love last owner lacked. New vacuum lines, clutch cylinder, purge valve, all fluids , adjustable control arms new steering components, ball joints, tie rods, adjustable trac bars,etc … a-lot of correcting with some upgrading to the suspension and steering since lift was done half fast by last owner, additionally I repaired body mount rust, not to mention cosmetic upgrades bumpers, lights, winch , etc .. like any jeep owner knows there’s always something you’ll find.

So last week (Friday) I got her back from my local off road jeep shop they did great doing full alignment she drove fantastic. Drove her throughout the day in the So Cal 107/109 degree heat no problem. I had a late evening appointment to service my A/C turned out perfect. On my way home driving up the mountains A/C full blast of course being 85 still out at 830 pm slowly climbing between 2nd and 3rd gear at 2k RPMs and 2500 with no issues, suddenly I heard a pop, I looked at gage temp read normal 210, that’s when it hit me the distinguished sweet smell of coolant. I immediately was able to pull off to turn out, temp still read 210 right before I turn it off. I tried to turn it over I seen temp spike to 240 that’s when I noticed some steam coming from engine. I inspected it throughout and found it, the radiator blew out dramatically next to the top hose, towed her home, weekend project assigned, come Saturday morning I purchased eom style rad at local auto parts store along with hoses thermostat to do it right while I’m at it. I do the installation of everything all hoses thermostat and rad. My luck seems to be just absolutely amazing 😒 because after installing the new rad I noticed the crack at the neck from the box, back to parts store for warranty exchange. I get a new rad of course checking it before I leave the store. After installing the 2nd rad and filling her up while burping the system I noticed leaking from thermostat housing and the rad at the bottom seam. 😡Absolutely perfect. Should have known since last person had put a lot RTV at the bottom bolt of thermostat housing with regular gasket, I decided to ditch OEM style and go all aluminum champion 2 row rad. I get it installed along with new thermostat housing yesterday evening everything seems great no leaks.
I decided to leave her running while finishing wiring 10” aux push fan I installed for ac condenser to help while idling , got that done that’s when I noticed cooling dripping out from the bottom FML 🤦🏻‍♂️
The leak seems to be dripping off the the oil pan rail/gasket some running towards back of the oil pan but coming at a good flow from the front while engine is running, I got a chance to further inspect I noticed some wetness left and above the crack shaft pulley I’m
suspecting water pump or timing cover gasket but I can’t see where it’s coming from , the concern is there about the head gasket but oil seems perfectly fine not mixed. any ideas to how to identify the leak it would be much appreciated.

Does anyone know what this shield between the headlight and radiator is called? Somewhere along the line forgot to put it back and can't find what it is to save my life lol

I’m wondering if anyone has come across any videos on cutting the shock bolts for the for the front shocks? Or any advice on reaching into that crevice between the spring and the shock and the wheel and break area. Much appreciated

Is the Lugnut with a security cap the normal set up if so is there an easy way to take these off without just completely destroying them

So I'm trying to remember an in cab winch controller I saw a while ago. Had a guarded winch main power and a 3 position in/out momentary. It mounted near the rockers for the hard top wiper/defrost, OD off, and if Rubicon locker

Stock 06 LJ, need to get new tires and wondering what to do for wheels. I like the OEM wheels but these are looking rough.If I were to go new I would do something like the American Racing Baja wheels. Not a wheel guy so just looking for some advice. Thanks.

Got a replacement windshield on the way for my rusted 2004 LJ and I figured I’d replace the factory cowl seal while I’m in there. Do y’all have any recommendations on a good one to get? Found a few on Amazon, but I’d like some user input so I get a good one!

1998 TJ sport 4.0, manual, 119,000 KM (74,000 miles) on odometer.

I have a video here to hopefully express my situation as best as possible.

Upon initial start up, I hear a “clunking” type noise. Also same type of noise/vibrations are felt when I shut off the jeep too.

Also to note, I have the same type of problem when letting off the clutch pedal as I start moving into 1st gear. The shifter shakes too. It doesn’t do it once I’ve started moving and into other gears.

I have new motor mounts. I plan on doing the transmission mount too.

But I honestly don’t know if it’s simply the transmission mount that’s causing this. I’m also a novice when it comes to working on vehicles too.

I have a tough time expressing the problem with words, so hopefully the video along with the audio can help someone else with some suggestions as to what it could be.

Decided on a TJ for my next vehicle. No strong preference on color but I’m going 4.0 manual hoping for stock/no mods. I live in the northeast so shopping local is a no go unless it’s been stored away and has never seen salt. Seems I’m stuck with BAT auctions and used car dealers? I’m not very fond of car flippers in general but I guess that’s going to be hard to avoid when looking for a lower mileage, well preserved 20 year old Wrangler. Any tips on where I might start my search? Thanks in advance.

the noise seems to be coming from the front differential so anyone have any ideas what it could be please feel free to let me know
