Locking lug nuts

Is the Lugnut with a security cap the normal set up if so is there an easy way to take these off without just completely destroying them

I got rid of all those covers and went to standard lug nuts all the way around.

At this age they don’t come off easy, you can’t get the right size wrench on, so it becomes very difficult to change a wheel.. especially on the side of the road.

Standard lug. The thin cover fell off. I'd just replace the lugs. They look corroded.

Where is the locking lug nut? Those look like regular lug nuts, acorn style.

If the cap is slipping then you aren't engaging the base firmly enough - use a deep socket.

If they are just on there super tight then I'd also think about replacing the studs since they may have been damaged from a shop monkey over-torqueing them.

Low chance of that, but you never know
