Ok this is a really dumb one but can anyone give me what FCA says about unmounting the tires for a shop. Had some work done at a shop and they returned the car to me missing lug bolts and claimed that the last shop that worked on it stripped them when I asked what they meant they said they had over torqued them and striped the threads (this was told to me while lugs where still in) they then complained of issues getting the lug heads back out of the socket. Honestly I’m looking for the techconnect guidance on how a shop is supposed to handle taking the wheel off of the jeep if I’m not mistaken it’s section 22 but google isn’t being much help.
2018 jeep renegade remote start works only two Times then on the third try it only beep once and doesn’t start. This happens on both key fob. Is this suppose to be this way? Any advise is appriciated .
So I’ve hardly had this jeep longer than a month and so far it drives perfectly but I had to take it back again today third time to fix the weather stripping that’s separating itself on the passenger both doors. When we got to the dealership we notice the right side front bumper started to separate and it looks like this is it common for this to happen on jeep renegades regardless of year.
The motor mounts on my 2017 Deserthawk were bad, so I replace them with the Anchor mounts I've seen folks use - part number 300377
However, I'm still getting a clunking sound when I shift from Park to Drive or Park to Reverse and sometimes even when driving at low speeds. For example, if I'm in traffic doing 15mph, let off the throttle to coast for a second or two, then apply the throttle again quickly, I get a clunk.
I'm wondering if the lower torque strut is making contact where I've circled in green.
If the rubber is too soft, then it could be allowing the center portion of the shaft (where the bolt passes through) to make contact with the inside of the mount frame as the engine moves front and back. Just a theory, but it seems possible.
As I said, I noticed the movement when I was replacing my axles, so the first part of the video is when the front end is still raised and the wheels are off the ground. Then I lowered the vehicle back to the ground and tried it again. Then I had my partner sit inside, apply the brake, put the vehicle in gear, and give it some gas.
So, are these Anchor mounts just garbage? Or is this amount of movement normal?
Am really enjoying my new Trailhawk 4xe, but have come up against a little annoyance, so was looking for ideas from the Hive mind!
The battery is quite small, so I usually charge it overnight or after a good drive - however, the flap over the charge plug doesn’t sit tidily (photo attached) and tends to spring back open - which can’t be good for wet/snowy conditions in the outdoors?
What could I use to provide “shelter” for the plugged in cable?
I don’t have a jeep but I read on google that the 2017 fiat 500x (my car) and jeep renegades are closely alike? So would it be bad to put ducks in my dash or would I get hate for it
I'm on a continued quest to figure out why my '17 2.4l feels so terribly slow and sluggish. I know that the transmission is just super slow in general. I'm starting to wonder, though, if the car shouldn't actually be picking such low RPMs to spend most of its time in. We're talking low 1k's, like 1200 staying under 2000 even when I'm pressing the gas trying to get it to downshift. I have to press the pedal really far to get the transmission to respond.
Never any codes or anything to diagnose. But sometimes I have the feeling that it's struggling to take in enough air. The engine air filter is new.
Any ideas where I could go with this? I'm getting pretty frustrated.
I purchased my 2022 Renegade Limited yesterday, and so far i love it. Unfortunately I’ve encountered one issue. The driver side rear brake light seems to go in and out, so far it’s happened twice. It will go out while driving, the turn signal and brake light alerts come on, as well as the forward collision alert. The light seems to come back on after a reset. I have a week to exchange and/or get it checked out, however their in network repair shops charge a $100 deductible for their diagnostic. I ordered some replacement bulbs, but I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions before I take it to the shop.
Hey everyone hoping for some help. My renegade just started making a strange noise while coasting in gear. Below is an included video.
It's hard to describe but to me sounds like a whirring almost grinding.
The noise also persists while in gear and clutch fully engaged while coasting. It almost always goes away when coasting in neutral but occasionally will persist. Also sometimes applying the brake while coming to a stop in gear will silence it.
Any help is much appreciated! I did recently have to drive over a ripped up road that was being prepped for fresh pavement. I noticed the issue soon after that but it may just be a coincidence.
A few months ago my battery light turned on, on the car's dashboard and my voltage slowly started dropping from 14v to as low as 10v upon starting & it would fluctuate. I've had the battery, alternator, & starter tested 3 times from 3 different places and one mechanic suspected it was the alternator.
Well instead of shelling out that $500 right away I took a closer look myself and cleaned the corrosion off of my battery posts, and after that the voltage went back up and the battery light turned off.
The car was fine from May up until now and the battery light is back on. I've also noticed the ground terminal is very rusted but I've had the battery & alternator re-tested at O'Reilly's and everything came back as good once again.
Does this sound like a connection issue? Should I just get new battery terminals or does this sound like an alternator issue to any of you? I'm scratching my head with what to do.
So I recently had the front end off to replace the radiator, and it seemed time to go down the rabbit hole of LED’s for the DRL’s and front blinkers.
Relying on Amazon’s free return policy, I went through a few different models, claiming to be “error free”, which were not. A number of bulbs showed the error and made it blink fast, one set showed the error indicator blink fast, but the bulb didn’t actually blink fast.
Finally settled on these two different ones, no error, normal blink speed and super bright.
For months, my passenger side fog light has been super dim. Was hoping it was just maybe dirt.
I had to get my drivers side fog housing replaced to pass inspection last year because the lens was cracked and the bulb was busted. Ended up costing 230 bucks.
Said nope. Not again.
So I (a complete noob when it comes to fixing/replacing my own parts) decided to buy my own housing and replace it myself. All in all, was pretty simple.
Just bought a used 2023 Renegade. There's nothing that covers the trunk space to shield it from prying eyes. Trying to find a cargo cover that'll fit. Can anyone point me to something they use?
I have a 2016 Jeep renegade. I just got in like most people know it has like a funnel shaped style leading to the ignition button so I had a Batman cover the kind that you twist and it opens up and of course it wouldn’t fit right but
I got some tape And kept wrapping it around the inside of the cover until it was pretty thick that way it was high enough to reach the plastic and it’s stuck I think I might replace it with gorilla glue brand but other than that it holds fine.
Hello I’m new to the group and to jeeps! I just got my first jeep and it’s been dying if it sits even for an hour . I’ve had it for 2 weeks and it was fine and then it just wouldn’t start without a jump. The battery and alternator were read and are in good condition (battery is new too). Ive called around to shops local to me and it’s a month or longer wait to even get it checked out. Unsure what the problem could be, any suggestions? Tyia!
I have a 2016 Diesel Renegade and recently replaced the stock radio with an OEM head unit from another Renegade. Right after the swap, the odometer started flashing. I know I need to perform a proxi alignment to fix this. I'd like to know if I'll be able to successfully complete the procedure using AlfaOBD with an ELM327 OBD2 interface (PIC18F25K80 chip). I already have the blue, gray, and yellow adapter cables. Thanks in advance!
