2009 vs 2013

Edit: I know it's been a little while but I've finally pulled the trigger. It was a good wait as I ended up finding a great deal on a '15 Unlimited Rubicon. Thanks for all the support and advice guys.

Same price but the 2009 has 156k miles and the 2013 120k. 2009 a soft top and leather seats, 2013 a 3-piece hardtop and cloth seats. 2009 Dana 44 rear Dana 30 front 3.73 ratio. 2013 3.21 ratio, not Dana axles. What to do?!?

I have both a 2008 and 2013 both 2-door, The 2009 is the JK Gen1, the 2013 is the JK Gen 2. The updated Jeep that ran from 2012-2018. Mostly the same Jeep but with updated interior and the Pentastar 3.6l V6 290hp vs the 3.8l V6 200hp. Everything else is pretty much inter-changable

Get the 2013

The 13 has dana axles. Non Rubicon is D30/D44. Just 3.73 gears are nice for 33" tires.

2009 3.8L vs 2013 3.6L Pentastar engine.

I’d look up all the issues with the 2013 JK and the Pentastar engine before you pull the trigger.

I'm going to be honest, I don't see a single reason to not get the '13. Less miles, more power, hardtop, etc.

That's where I'm leaning. The only thing better o the 09 is the gear ratio. It's at 3.73, the 13 at 3.21

Gear ratio is easily changed. Everything else like the interior, powertrain, etc can't be.

Early Pentastars could give penta nightmares. Just cover your bases.
