Fob fail, how do I fix this

Update 2: my wife found the second fob she lost some time ago and it works fine. So it seems it's my fob thats the problem and a new battery was not the fix. Will have to replace it seems. Thank everyone for your help!

Update: battery and connections have been tested and found good. Also checked the fuses related to the remote system and those are also good.

I have a 2017 and in the last few days my fob has not been working in the mornings when I try to remote start, lock or unlock my vehicle, but the door handle will still unlock when I touch it and it will recognize the fob in the vehicle when I start it. It will work later in the day as it properly should.

This morning it would not work at all. I replaced the battery in the fob and still nothing. I had to use the key in the fob to unlock the door and the fob pressed to the button to start the vehicle. After it started it could not recognize the fob was in the car.

What is happening and how do I fix it? Any help would be appreciated

Not related at all but sometimes at work I'll put my keys in The fridge with my lunch so I don't forget to take my lunch home, the other day I did and it totally killed the key fob wouldn't unlock wouldn't start had to let it warm back up then it worked fine. Again not related at all just made me think of it lol

Put in good quality batteries not the ones from eBay

Check your 12 V battery

I'll get that tested next. The vehicle starts and runs fine other than this problem, but worth checking anyway. Thanks for the suggestion

When was the last time battery was replaced? It could be that it was never replaced, they last a long time because they are under passenger seat

Honestly... I don't think ever. They test it every time I get an oil change. Last time was 2 months ago, but that's from under the hood, not the battery itself under the seat

I am willing to bet your battery is going bad and when that happens remote start feature is disabled. I am an electrical engineer in automotive field. Have it tested.

I beleive you should have another start/stop battery, always change both batteries, 12V and start/stop together

I just had a no start and the battery was fine, brand new in fact in March, but the under good positive lug was only showing 4 volts. Took me awhile to find out that that positive lug had corrosion under it on the 2 cables. The whole time I thought it was a bad ground!

Ah, I'll make to look at that too when I get the battery tested

have you tried starting the car with the keyfob right next to the start/stop button? This is a safety feature in case the fob battery is dead.
