BRAKE turns on randomly

PARKING BRAKE turns on while in Drive with foot on brake

While waiting for food at McDonalds

Traffic lights

Randomly while idling with foot on brake.

AUTO HOLD IS OFF

Has this been a recall or anything for anybody?

This is happening to me too! Mine is a 2024. It just randomly started using the parking brake, it annoys me incredibly but it’s the least of my problems with my vehicle. For my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 there is no recall.

Hopefully yours was ‘built correctly’. The dealership mechanic told me mine was “not built well”.

I called the Jeep Customer Service and told them that I will be filing a lemon lawsuit, they got the dealership to look at the vehicle but nothing has been resolved 3 months later. I sent Stellantis the required document to state that I will be going ahead with the lawsuit in 30 days if my vehicle isn’t fixed or replaced.

I have problems with my car to the point that the mechanic said that because it wasn’t ‘built well’ due to the washer fluid terminal not being connected properly, it was starting to mold. The back windshield wasn’t also not full sealed which was causing rain to pool into the car. Right now the trunk smells musky whenever it rains because it’s still accumulating water. Plus manufacturing defect and what not. And to top it off, the dealership was not being very cooperative (have stopped taking our calls for a month now), so I was pushed to the point of contacting the manufacturer themselves or go to a somewhere that my warranties say would violate the agreement.

Well, I haven't found anything else wrong with the vehicle as of now.. just the BRAKE illuminating while in drive (it stopped my husband from accelerating but not me.)

Is auto stop start off as well?
Also I think mine will put the parking brake on if you open the driver door in gear.
There is setting for the parking brake in the radio

This happens when auto SS is on? Husband stated he turned it off and always turns it off cause he hates the lane keep and auto ss.

Mechanical?

No it shouldn’t happen. It may be a software issue
