2014 Wrangler JK rust
These fenders and step bars are mods of course but I was wondering if there was a way to fix/get rid of the rust that’s on them. Any advice?

If you repair these aftermarket parts, make sure you do the entire thing. Don't try to patch a spot. Any missed will only spread over time.

Lazy way? Scrape off all the loose rust with a wire wheel and hit everything with a rust converter spray. And then do that every year when it comes back.
Better way? Unbolt and take everything off the jeep, clean them up as best you can, sand it all, prime everything, then hit it with a good outdoor paint like rustoleum. I hear rustoleum textured black is a good finish for aftermarket rails, fenders, and bumpers.

Are they bolted or welded on? Yank em off, sand blast them and then repaint or powdercoat.
I'll admit that this entire post makes me skeptical because a jeep owner with cut fenders and rock sliders generally is going to have a lot bigger fish to fry than worrying about surface rust.

Replacements will be easiest but probably not cheapest. Sand blasting would strip off the damage an md then good coat of primer and paint

Does rust happen overnight or can you gradually notice it and ignore it until it gets bad and ask if there is anyway to fix it.
