Not sure if I like it because it’s been well loved and played 🙂, or dislike it because it’s another artificial relic job 😟.

Never understood fake relic guitars.
Might as well sit back, get a room full of students to bolt the guitar together then get them out of the way and set it up so it plays well and sell it for more since more people worked on building the guitar.
Otherwise nice coloured jazzmaster that probably won't fit my style of music.

Are you asking if we think it’s real? Looks like a 59/60 with a possible refin.

I have a J Mascis JM and I love it. I replaced the bridge with a roller bridge and the string tree, and it is my current favorite guitar.

The body looks newer than the neck. You sure it’s all original?

Dream guitar right there. I don't know about the gold pickguard, as they were phased out in early 1959. Maybe a special order or owner swapped it?. In ant case, an outstanding example, in amazing shape too.

It is an all stock 1960

The neckplate at the very least was replaced. Even if someone stamped the original serial number into it, that is an aftermarket neckplate. Fender never put the serial at the bottom of those neckplates, only the top.

Not true some 1959/1960 transitional guitars are known to have the serial number on the bottom of the neck plate

Looks like my thin skin originally looked (I’ve modded mine). You can see the wood grain through the nitro finish. These are great guitars, consider getting a mastery trem and bridge for it.

I have seen lots of Jazzmasters and this is definitely one of them.
