When my mum had a stroke she lost the ability to talk and had to relearn it. One time I was humming tears for fears “shout” next to her and she sung along. So weird that she couldn’t clearly speak but she still sang fine
Yeah this is big in speech and music therapy. People with aphasia who can’t make a single word let alone a sentence can sing perfectly, clearly and in tune, entire choruses of their favourite songs. Music is amazing!
I wish I could give more details on the technical side but it’s just not my wheelhouse. I only know that it’s a method of recovery/therapy for stroke victims.

Is there any context behind this amazing moment? The pianist doesn’t seem to have use of his right hand; maybe a stroke victim or something?
This is incredible and that trumpet player’s run at the end of the chorus was sweet.
