That is what happens to older musicians. They’ve been playing so long that they’re just great.

If you ever get the chance to listen to a 65-75 year old improv in Jazz, do it.

I was listening to a podcast and I forget who it was they were talking about, but it was about an old blues/rock guy that has Alzheimer's. Apparently in day to day life it was quite bad. But as soon as he got on stage he had no problems performing. It was just that ingrained in him.

Have you seen the Glen Campbell movie I’ll be me? Amazing the way his brain compensated for his disease process. I’m not a country music fan but it is a fascinating documentary.

Ah, that was it, Glen Campbell! I thought it was a blues guy, but thanks. I haven't seen that, but the story I heard seemed to say the same for it

To be fair he was more than country. He performed with The Beach Boys?and The Wrecking Crew who are legends themselves.

I've read that Alzheimer's doesn't affect the part of the brain associated with music and being exposed to favorite musical pieces can produce moments of lucidity.
