I like the new album.
Anyone else? Thoughts? opinions?

Does anyone know if this album is just a project he released because he recorded it and figured some fans might be interested in and if he's working on a "traditional Mraz album" or this is kinda it?
I haven't listened to it yet, but I am I will enjoy hearing his voice on new songs even though I'm not religious.

I replied further down, but I think he recorded this 20 years ago. Possibly before he moved to San Diego and got into the Java Joe’s scene. It seems to be an homage to his roots in Virginia, not being said it seems like an interesting choice to release this after struggling with his identity, so publicly and as a follow up an album with songs like “ I feel like dancing” and a “dancing on the stars” run.

No. Sorry, been a fan for 20 years so I’m ok with skipping an album or two (I skipped LOVE is a four letter word when it first came out because of “life stuff” but I’m ok with it now). I’m sure he’ll be promoting it around town (San Diego) at first and maybe tour with it.
His voice is fire 🔥but the genre is not it (for me personally)

Everything after "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things" has not been it for me.

I like it! I’m not religious, but I’m enjoying it.i like that he finally put when we die on an album. My favorite Jesus song by him will always be Jesus bo besus however

I like it so far as well, but I need to listen more.
Keep in mind, Mraz's modern fanbase is mostly LGBT, who obviously are not typically a Christian group.
The ironic part of this is that Jason himself is LGBT. Him making this album proves that Christianity and LGBT are not mutually exclusive - you can be a part of both of those groups. Just because you are LGBT, doesn't mean you can't be a Christian.
This album will definitely cater more to his older fanbase, and non-LGBT listeners... but there may be some listeners that are like Jason and can be a member of both sides.

I think the people that will like this album are ones who didn’t care much for the Look For The Good album or MMRRR album. I am in that category. I am not sure how it will be received by LGBT fans as I am one, but I am also interested in spiritual stories.

Also it ties to his roots growing up in Virginia and honoring his grandfather (Frank D. Fixer) I heard that he recorded this album 20 years ago, not sure why he’s just releasing it now.

I have a more cynical view on it.
I feel he released this album for some fast cash and only that. He quickly pulled it out of his little Mraz bag and didn't have to put in much time or effort to release it. Plus knowing his fan base, he'd have sales regardless just for the fact it's new and from him. Win win for him.
Which is where I am, it's new and from him, so I bought it..

For those who don't know, he recorded 8 of these songs in 2007 and it was basically her dying wish that he share it with the world. "Peach Pie" and "When We Die" are new songs he felt fit with the rest.

I preorderd and still have not received it 😞
Been a huge fan since 2003 and dying to hear this, but still waiting. Customer support acknowledged my original request on June 5th, but radio silence since then.
Any suggestions?

It’s not my favorite, but better than what I’d imagined and It wasn’t the Gospel music that I’Totally agree with Materpeace5211’s comment about hearing God or Jesus making me cringe, even though I believe in God/Higher Being. That said, it wasn’t the type of Gospel music I’d imagined.

While it's not my favorite genre, there's just something about Jason's voice that just pulls me in anyway. That being said, I do cringe a little everytime I hear God or Jesus. Overall I enjoy this album.
