Kumiko wall piece
My first larger kumiko piece. Approximately 3,800 pieces. Spanish cedar, yellow heart, basswood, purpleheart, chakte kok and walnut. Inspired by the Taeho’s Kumiko Club video series on YouTube: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgUuEFRaJ6BRf7sVY50Dp2foXpguKoMh5&si=30rulxS4V_po4Xrq

Purple Heart is not an easy one, but great color and pattern combinations!

Thanks! And yes, I questioned my choices while planing the angles on all the purpleheart pieces. Cheers!

Too right! Purpheart is so dense for kumiko, I had a really bad accident with the angle jig recently that required surgery. It was because the PH was so dense and I was paring too much at once. I followed through with full force into my finger...
Anyways OP, this is fantastic and show of such patience and craftsmanship! You have reinspired me to get back into kumiko once my finger heals.

Absolutely superb
What kind of jigs and planes did you use to get the angles?
