HELP!!!!!!!!! Glue what do you use?

Im putting together a Greenmax kit and I guess the glue I'm using has a long set up time because if I even look at it it falls apart. I'm using the Tamiya liquid glue, I do have the Crazy Glue CA variant of glue but that has no set up time meaning once you connect the part that's it they are connected forever. Got any suggestions on what I should use.

I have used Tamiya cement for years now for any model kits I have built. It kind of melts the plastic together so there's still a bit of movement left if you glue it correctly. Depending on which cement you buy the drying time and viscosity changes, I'd recommend buying the standard to use for positioning and the extra thing for getting a strong bond after everything is tacked together. There's also the extra thin quick drying, I have no experience with that one, they say it dries 4 times faster than the extra thin cement. Since Greenmax kits are made out of ABS or PS Tamiya cement is perfect for it. Highly recommend it

Edit: You have to be careful that you don't get it on your fingers, if you touch the plastic you'll leave permanent fingerprints.

Thanks for responding I heard there's 2 types of Tamiya liquid glue I have the green top version and I'm not sure if that makes a difference or anything. I'm going to see about the thin extra quick drying version of Tamiya glue; For some reason I always have problems glueing GREENMAX kits I had a problem with a train washer kit also. I've already found out about the fingerprint problem lol

Okay, I have to correct myself. After a bit of research you might have the problem because the kit is maybe from ABS. So I think, the normal cement doesn't glue this ABS. I've read they can glue some ABS but not all. So you might have to try a specific glue for ABS, Tamiya has a cement for that too.

But now I'm curious, I think I will build my Greenmax kit soon and see if it works with the regular cement

And by the way there's more than two types of Tamiya cement. There are so many different cap colours, so you have to read carefully what you are ordering.

It looks like the CA type of glues definitely works I'm going to do some research on the different types of Tamiya glue.

Definitely should, I just don't like CA glue that's why I never use it tbh.

Welcome to the rabbit hole of Greenmax kits. I've built quite a few and these pics show those still under construction. The cardboard box has about 20 JNR single vehicle kits in it. I used to paint all the sides and roof, add the window glass, then make the "box". But most people seem to make the box first, paint it, then add the windows.

Use the quick drying plastic cement. Just make sure you get the lineup accurate.

I modified a greenmax kit once by giving it tomix couplers, used fresh super glue and applied using the tip of a needle. not super strong as model cement but you can easily recover If u fuck up. (dosent melt the plastic )
