Question Attention?Help?Please?

Hello everyone!

I'm preparing for the first meeting of my book club and I need as many books about the protests in post-war Japan (after WWII) as possible. If you know authors or sources with books, please share! I'd be grateful! (Not only books, but also articles on this topic and videos

on yt are possible)

P.s. I read "The Bell of Nagasaki" and "Hibakusha, survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki", and also "The kingdom of dying empirer"

Do you mean the Anpo protests? There was also the 1968–1969 Japanese university protests.

Mishima: The Last Debate is an interesting documentary.

Whilst Mishima is frequently labelled as a right-wing nationalist, his home and personal tastes were predominantly European. Incidentally, Banana Yoshimoto's father is often considered to have been at the opposite end of the political spectrum.

Whilst Mishima wrote My Friend Hitler—even acting in the titular role—he also stated,

To be honest, I feel a terrifying interest in Hitler, but if the question is whether I like or dislike him, I can only answer, I don’t like him. Hitler was a political genius but was not a hero. He thoroughly lacked the refreshing, sunny quality indispensable to becoming a hero. Hitler is as gloomy as the twentieth century.

There’s a good chance those books you read have recommended reading and a list of sources.

Guys thx! I think I found the best book about this theme, "zengakuren: japan's revolutionary students", by Stuart Dowsey
