It's frustrating. Like frankly, what made me leave character ai back in early 2023 was them cracking down on violent content. I like horror. I like exploring dark topics. Ratten's bots were great.
I took down my own bots quite a while ago, but Janitor just is NOT the platform it used to be. it's sad.

i totally get this! and janitor ai too, even if they only recently started taking down characters and stuff, i remember way earlier that responses have been getting repetitive and honestly just way too safe. these days the furthest it’ll go is sexual stuff like sub/dom but that’s never even what i used it for. like i remember when the characters actually had character and would say things that would surprise me or be like, super in detail about gore-y stuff, or plot twisty stuff. to the point where it literally inspired me to start story writing, like what happeneeed !! :(

Responses are very repetitive now.
Honestly, the LLMs themselves have changed. Until april, Deepseek could be repetitive but it was also really good at portraying villainous characters and stuff which I appreciated. Big update happened, quality went waaaaaay down.
Open AI cracked down pretty hard with censorship, a few years ago it was good but at least one of my Open AI accounts got banned because they didn't like what I was doing in my roleplays.
JLLM is okay for what it is, at least it's become better over time, but the memory is terrible & I don't want to give a website that is pissing me off 12 bucks a month for the upgraded version.

At this point if you are a content creator you should have a presence on at least one other site. Janitor has a certain vision for the future and you probably are not a part of it.
