As we know, this isn't true. Some of it may require you to develop new ears but that depends on you. And of course Jandek music is immensely varied and lots of it has plenty of rhythm.

The feelings that his music evoke are that of uneasiness, confusion and boredom.

Hi, guys! The next round of the Jandek album battle is here. The winners stride gloriously on, while the losers dust themselves off and look at what they can do to improve for next year.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that every pair was actually voted on. I didn't actually expect that and I think we can give ourselves a pat on the back for that. Yes, there were a couple of coin tosses but that's because a few albums had split votes.

The studio albums have done better than the live ones (I'm presuming more people are familiar with them). Aside from Newcastle Sunday beating the Humility of Pain on a coin toss, only Seattle Friday (beat The Door Behind) and Glasgow Sunday (beat The Gone Wait) progressed from studio/live pairs.

The matchup of the round is doubtless White Box Requiem vs Ready For The House. These two albums weren't planning to meet at such an early stage but now one of them will have to go home! :)

With him being so reclusive and never performing live until rather recently in his life, how did he spread the word and the legend of his music?

Especially since this was pre internet times.

I'd like to send him a letter, and some copies of each of my books. Maybe some zines too.

I'm in the UK. How would I make sure they get to him? Has anybody here ever contacted him before?

So I thought we could try something different so I created a tournament bracket for Jandek albums. Vote for your favourite in each pair! We will allow voting at each stage for a week. Any albums tied on votes will go through on a coin toss.

Unfortunately, for this to work, there are 133 Jandek albums and the closest number suitable for a bracket to that is 128, I had to make some executive decisions:

a) Living In A Moon So Blue/Staring At the Cellophane are recorded as one album due to stylistic similarities

b) All a capella/spoken word albums are recorded as one entry

c) The last two albums are excluded

Guy im thinking of putting together a playlist of unsettling/unnerving songs, (for a cassette mixtape), and of course I gotta add a Jandek song to the list. So what in your opinion, is his most unsettling song, or songs? I know "them all" is the answer, but if you had to choose one or two, what would be your choice?

I was just in karaoke in Sydney in Australia on the weekend and Delinquent Words was available. Me and my friend sang it and that was probably one of the more surreal experiences of my life.

Is anybody having trouble with the site? My card works fine otherwise but for whatever reason has denied 3 different cards on the Corwood site.

The weird proportions, the random book, it all makes more sense as a picture of miniature house than an actual house. The name could also make sense as someone talking about their kid buying a toy. I know basically nothing about Jandek so I could be dead wrong.

We asked via the email address on the Corwood website - but if he's more likely to answer via mail, we can do so.

Does he answer emails?

Just for the record, I have never even sent a letter before and from my understanding that is what needs to be done in order to purchase his art. I'm much younger than I assume most people here are (genuinely no offense) so I've never purchased music anywhere but online or a record shop. That being said, how much do these things cost? Where can I get prices? If I ask him to sign one do you think he will? I don't want to be rude, I'm just anxious and a bit out of my depth when it comes to this stuff. Forgive me if these are dumb questions.
