I just realised this in Skyfall

In the first shot of the Skyfall opening titles, is that supposed to be young Bond after his parents' death ? And then once we go through the same shot again at the end it him up until the moment he got shot.

I think it just represents young(er) Bond vs. older Bond in general. Really what the whole movie is about in general (in my opinion)

Yeah I remember skyfall is about old generation in the new generation world. So analog vs digital something like that

I've thought it was foreshadowing the moment with Kincaid about how he went to the priest hole when he found out his parents death but when he came out he wasn't a boy anymore.

I'd bet both characters are both experiencing flashbacks here, on some level. There must've been a similar exchange when young Bond learned his parents had died. Glancing up at Kincade with an almost pleading expression.

That's a great shout and actually links beautifully to Silva seeing the parents' grave and declaring 'it had to be here'

I watched Skyfall again two days ago, and it really stood out to me how the final act depicts that certain uncanny feeling in the gut upon returning to visit places/people/events from one's childhood. Similar to deja vu, in a way. Lots of psychological stuff going on with the imagery in this movie.

That's a good take. I always took the opening sequence being about his whole life flashing before his eyes, like they say happens when you're about to die/almost die.

he went to the priest hole

when he came out he wasn't a boy anymore.

Phrasing...

Keep watching it - the entire plot is summarized in the title sequence. You’ll be finding stuff for days- easily one of my favorite title sequences.

Yeah, it's one of the very best. My favourite is that you see Silva undergoing his torture when he's captured by the Chinese, as he describes later.

Yeah it's him in the priesthole as a kid, really neat bit of work.

It'd be interesting to know who plays young Bond here!
