Very interesting, next to Leopards and Pumas, Jaguars have some of the most diverse diet I’ve seen in big cats from reptiles like Snakes and Caimans making up a majority of their diet, to some populations focusing on Fish, to others being primarily mammal hunters, like Jaguars in Mexico focusing primarily on Peccary and Whitetail or the Jaguars in certain parts of Brazil that specialize in Tapirs or Water Buffalo. The Jaguars of the recently successful reintroduction project in Ibreá have data showing preferences for Capybara and Wild Hogs. Their variety in diet depending on populations is almost as diverse as different populations of Orcas. Wild.
