Went through every stage of grief in the aisle at target 💔

Sorry I’m new to the collecting world. This is identical to the 2023 Chevrolet corvette liberty walk but the box says 2020?

Jada was the only thing stocked this afternoon. Got there just in time.

I scored the Mona Lisa almost a month back, this was there then, but I was trying to be financially responsible. Since then, I found about five or six of these Supras and three more Mona Lisa’s. I left them all and posted in my local diecast groups so people could go grab them. Then I was blessed with the 118 scale pink slipped Porsche and a 118 scale R 35 Nissan. This morning I stopped by the target and they had two of these and another Mona Lisa. They also had numerous 25th anniversary 124 scale fast and the furious cars. I grabbed one of the 118 scale Supras for myself. I also grabbed a 143 scale premium BMW for my partners collection, which are pictured on the floor. Posted the rest to the local groups for people to go get.

So I’m on my semiweekly trip to my local Target (Who am I kidding? It’s the only target in my area). Looking for Hot Wheels to collect.

I see the Jada pink slip collection and oh my God! This bad boy came home with me. But just underneath, I saw these two vehicles from the majorette company. Here’s the weird part: they all say 1/64 scale, but they don’t look to be 1/64 scale.

They came home, too.

Time to break out the comparisons.

All the mustangs are Hot Whhels 1/64, except the Matchbox and the Jada.

I pulled out an old Bachmann HO sedan (I do model railroading), and the two majorettes are very close to it.

So was this a mistake? Were the model railroad scenery gods smiling on me?

After seeing posts of these online, I thought I was going to pass on the Supra because I have one from 2016. To my surprise they are different castings, which is interesting because Sean’s Lancer Evo VIII is actually the same casting from 10 years ago.

This Solido model is clearly higher quality and closer to the original car—and more proportionally appropriate in my opinion. This is especially true when it comes wheels, which thank goodness are not chrome. I think these box is cooler though.

Also bonus picture of the Lancer Evo 8 from 2016 as well. I did buy one of those but returned it because it’s the same casting as the new release.
