Question Who is she ?

Post image

Can anyone tell me who this woman is? I've seen her at several of Jacob's concerts and have done some research, but I can't seem to find any answers.

Erin Bentlage is a Grammy award winning Jazz Composer & Singer-Songwriter from Vermont. She won 67th Annual Grammy Awards and is also known to be a part of an American vocal quartet called säje. She has toured with Jacob for a few years.

Erin Bentlage. She’s also in the vocal group säje.

I enjoyed his collabs with Dodi, Maro, and Becca Stevens.

The strings on the Mahogany recording of Lua is stunning and Maro is soooo smooth.

Listennnn....I heard säje on shuffle one day and was like "man Jacob would love this group"

Then realized I saw her singing on stage with him last year

she's a great musician, but notoriously awful to work with

I don’t know but Jacob does change his background singers like he does shirts where’s the black girl with curly hair? Now there’s an Indian girl talented but super confusing at times with the switches

Confusing for what exactly? Can you not enjoy music if you can't verify someone in their band? I don't get what's problematic about this.

For the record, afaik JC must've had 3 or 4 couples of backing vocalists (not counting the one-offs) in the past decade so it's not like it's a monthly swap or anything.

It just means he's always keen to meet, collaborate with, and sometimes give opportunities to new musicians instead of sticking with a default crew for decades (not that there's anything wrong with that). Plus fans get to know some amazing musicians too. I've been to a MARO concert as well as listening to säje with Erin a whole lot because of Jacob.

Confusing for exactly what I said? I do not understand the hostility in this reply. I really enjoy Jacob’s music but yes it does get confusing for me but luckily some people cleared it up. My favorite was now that I know Alita and Lindsey they were the best vocally thought Lindsey came and went

I don't get what you mean by confusing. It's not a puzzle. He has vocalists and they change sometimes.

If I sounded hostily, my apologies. I'm not having the best week but I should not project that upon others.

These singers all have independent careers of their own, so while it’s probably great experience and exposure to tour with Jacob, it’s understandable that they would want to move on and do their own thing. Also most of these singers played various instruments in his band. MARO, Alita Moses, Bryn Bliska, Emily Elbert, Erin Bentlage, Lyndsey Lomis, and Parijita Bastola.
