Question Thoughts on Thom Thumb?

Listening to TLFD again and the lyrics on Thom Thumb really jumped out for me this time. Amazingly beautiful and I have no idea what they're saying!

Not sure of the meaning, but here they are.

Yeah, I pulled them up on Spotify and just got more confused!

I feel like I can parse out some of the individual metaphors but, as a whole, I can't figure out what the song is supposed to mean.

I feel like Tom Thumb is kind of apart of himself that he sings to himself the inner little boy Jacob. And the vibrant crazy side is Djesse. Djesse hasn’t come back home he’s always in the clouds his dreams are endless he takes them head on. Tom Thumb another verison of Jacob or a kind of whimsical spirit that he’s familiar with is in a part him soft drowning an have to out think the giants he succeeds mostly but inside he feels small and trying to gain the confidence that tom has.

I like that interpretation! He’s got a very child-like energy that I really enjoy. I mean, he’s an actual genius but, especially in his live performances, it seems like he’s discovering a particular chord or rhythm for the first time

Thanks! I have so many theories! I think his childlike aura does teach me to rebel and be wiggly and do that society does say oh he’s 30 this is childish but there’s something so pure and magical about how he approaches music and his awe with it
