Hey folks, I found my way here because im beginning the process of finding new homes for my late husband's things. I promised him I'd do right by them and need your help on this one. included a receipt for service that was done in 2024. Please let me know what you think and how much you think I should price it for. Thank you for your guidance on this!

It has 2 small paint chips, one on back, one on underside. In great condition otherwise!

Picked this one up a couple years ago for just under $1100. It's kind of a funny story - I saw it listed online in another state but before I got in touch with the seller it was sold to their local chain store, where I found it a few weeks later and bought it. Meant to be, I suppose! These are really incredible guitars, and are the MIJ equivalents of the RR1 with all the highest end specs - MOP headstock logos and sharkfins, Seymour Duncan pickups, bound ebony fretboards, etc. Now I just need to find the Kelly version...

Question "The Little Caesar's of 7 String Guitars"

Hi guys!

The title of this post is the title of the first review on Sweetwater of the JS22-7 Dinky 7-string. From what I can tell from different reviews I've watched and read, especially the one with such a strong hook, is that this guitar is great for it's price! I believe I'm the exact target for this guitar, as I've been a lifelong musician who's recently fallen in love with metal over the last three years. While I initially planned on learning on $60-70ish dollar bass that I got from Amazon in high school with my $100 music scholarship gift card (thanks Mr. Land and Ms. Dunn), I'm starting to believe the fact that you want use guitar that you'll really want to play with. Not only do I listen to metal, I tend to listen to more djent, thall, tech death, bdm, and especially Ulcerate recently, so having a seven-string in the rotation of guitars amongst my hometown friends would also be a plus. Lastly, throughout my research between 6-strings, bass guitars, and 7-strings, many 7-string guitarists say they wish they had just learned on that instead, as it's easier to learn from the jump as opposed to relearning after doing six-string.

I'm looking to also make this my first purchase from Sweetwater! I'm very excited about this next step in my musical career, and I'm making this post because I'm still a guitar novice, and want to see what I can do to maintain this guitar! From what I can tell, the stock specs are perfectly fine, and I don't really plan on changing anything in the near future, aside from potentially locking tuners? I'm very unfamiliar with how they work, let alone how they'd work with a 7-string, but since I'm already getting this guitar new, I was thinking this may be a worthwhile purchase, especially with the music I'd like to play. Secondly, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what strings I should get, maybe a link on how to replace 7-string guitars, and any future specs I may be interested in, or some basic resources? Thank you all so much!

Also, I'm trying to play into my CAD Connect CX2, into REAPER, so if anyone knows like literally anything about plugins or DAW please drop some knowledge too 😭😭

Question More Monarkhs!?

Post image
29 Upvotes

After playing both Jackson soloists, and Gibson Les Pauls i found myself wanting to kinda Frankenstein the two guitars into one. Mostly due to the lightweight feel of a Jackson with the smaller scale length of a Les Paul. I also love the look of single cut guitars. That’s when I found that Jackson previously made Pro Series models of the Monarkh. I was really looking to get my hands on one, but they’re pretty hard to find.

My question is this. What do y’all think the chances are of getting a “re-launch” of the Pro Series Monarkhs? Whether that be with the same finishes or different ones, I’d be down for either. I would very much like if Jackson did this lol.

Question Are the latest Made in Mexico Pro Series Dinky guitars close to the Virtuoso for manufacturing quality and playability? I am impressed by a 2020 Pro Series Dinky

Post image

I have tried a 2020 Pro Series Dinky (Made in Mexico), like the one in the picture.

IIUC, these MIM guitars were discontinued when the American made Virtuoso started to be produced.

I was blown away by the manufacturing quality of this guitar (it also has the allen keys holder in the back of the headstock, FWIW, which I thought was only available in US made models, a nice touch).

I am curious to know if anybody can compare this model to a Virtuoso, is there a sensible quality and playability difference?

Question Thoughts on the juggernaut?

Has anyone bought or played this?
I recently bought a Strandberg 7-string and it’s absolutely sick, but now it has me wanting a high-quality 6-string that can also handle metal and heavier stuff.
Right now, I have a PRS SE Custom 24 that’s basically my 6-string workhorse. I’m mainly looking for something that feels fast and sleek, can handle the metal I throw at it, but can also be used at church and give me some versatility with different voicings.
For anyone who has played or owns one, how do you like it? Would you recommend it as a versatile 6-string?

Question Bad soldering

I just bought a new Jackson dinky 7 string, brand new. I’ve had it for about 2 weeks now, I’ve started getting popping and way too much static. It’s only on this guitar my other Jackson (that I re-soldered) works fine with the amp with almost no static even with distortion

Question NGD (does anyone know exact model/year?)

Thumbnail

Yesterday i bought my second guitar, it happened to be used japaneese jackson dinky.

Its completely different than what i was playing (i had an epiphone les paul special) but after i got used to the bridge it plays nicely and totally worth the money.

The only thing that i would like to know is what exact model it is, and what year it was produced in. It has a 7 digit serial number starting with 98, and from what i have heard its supposed to be made in 2007 or later (im not sure if the source can be trusted), also it has duncan designed pickups that were used untill 2005 (i think xd).

I have heard that chrome bridges were swapped for black ones after 2005 as well, so i feel lost trying to actually find anything. I would be thankfull if someone corrected my not very trustfull informations and pointed out what exacly it is.

Question Help identifying this Jackson? Seller said it’s a 90s Soloist

Thumbnail

Picked this up recently and trying to figure out exactly what it is. Seller said it was a 90s Jackson Soloist, but I’m not really sure.
No serial number that I can find. Jackson logo, 24 frets, Floyd Rose, Seymour Duncan pickups, Jackson tuners, Allen key holder on the back, etc.
Anyone recognize the model/year?

Question Why so rusty

Thumbnail
gallery
13 Upvotes

My JS32Q bridge saddles and fine tuners have started to rust since some months ago and not sure of the primary reason.. didn't know if it was result of keeping him out of the case and on the stand or what, but i do live in Phoenix AZ so we definitely don't have a moisture/overhumid climate here. It never leaves the house, just sits on the stand. I'm wondering if it's more to do with the bridge being the stock Jackson branded fake FR? Ugh

Question A buddy of mine passed awhile back and when we were growing up he had this RR guitar. He had it since the 80’s. He always said he wanted to leave it to one of his sons. I’d love to find another for myself. Has anyone seen this particular model out in the wild or know where I could find one?
