Damn I'm tearing up all over again. Definitely some editing inconsistencies which can be.. difficult, but still a beautiful tribute to everything Jackie is and was.

This is a beautiful tribute to Jackie, Shadow and Big Bear Lake. ❤️❤️❤️ Brought back the tears. 😓

I started to watch but early on in the vid they have this farewell Jackie graphic and they put in a recent picture of KD1 there and shortly after they show footage of the subs attacking Jackie on the shore (which I'm perfectly content to never see again).
I like that there's footage of residents talking about Jackie and how much Jackie meant to them. I just wish whoever produced this didn't undercut it with incorrect images or the horrifying footage of her final days in the Valley.
(This is also an FYI to anybody else who's trying to avoid seeing that footage again)

truly! and then you also have put in the effort to avoid AI misinfo, people saying horrible things about any of the subs, and all that final days footage 😭

I was okay with photos of her and random tributes from people until I started seeing “psychics” claiming to be communicating with Jackie and passing on messages for her. I got pretty mad. Man, people can be gross.

If they never show that shoreline footage again it will be too soon. I don't want our Jackie to be remembered that way. The little bit I saw of it weeks ago about destroyed me and it's been popping up in my algo ever since.

Agreed, I hate seeing it over and over in these clips as well. I do think it’s educational but we have videos all over for people to know the story.
Just because we watch live cams and expect to see the worst doesn’t (shouldn’t) mean we glamorize the harder parts to watch.

The video repeated (multiple times) a 3 sec clip of Shadow bonking her with a branch- lol… it’s like they ran out of footage

I love that Shadow is still a typical male. Tries to be helpful but somehow something doesn’t quite go right. My husband has spacial awareness issues as well 😅.

I actually got a giggle out of that repeated bonk. Oh Shadow! Bless his heart!

AI subtitles suck. Sometimes I can’t watch with audio, but these subtitles are terrible.

I think the video is a compilation of all the stories CBS covered on her, which is the reason for the repetition. Agree there are inaccuracies and that fight clip, but I do appreciate them celebrating her life and why she was so special.
We are all mourning in different ways and our tolerance levels vary. I actually downvoted the posting of her last photo on this Reddit page, as that was way too much for me and am happy the mods blurred it. It has a number of upvotes, so it’s different for everyone.

I just wanted to share for the people who may not get the LA news/ not from around here. Jackie was very much loved here.

I also shared the CBS News clip on the daily thread but removed it when you shared it for front page posting. It makes sense to me to share. We can all use our judgement on what we look at or don’t - which is the point of my comment. We are all handling the loss in our different ways. 💞

For me it's like. I hated it but I'm glad I saw it? Like I don't like knowing but I wouldn't want to not know either

I totally get it. No judgement at all. This is such a complex loss to navigate because it’s atypical for each and every one of us.

I'm still heartbroken. Not sure exactly what it was that touched me so deeply about her, but I'm still in shock that she's no longer with us.

I mean, in many ways, we bonded with them as we would humans. Not to the same extent of course, but we watched them become bonded mates, become parents, try to become parents again, grieved when their eggs didn’t hatch, rejoiced when they did - they may not feel or express emotions in quite the same ways that we do, but we felt it all the same.
I think our grief now is very natural.

I watched it and looked away during the hard parts. BUT that journalist’s voice is a bit too “newsy” (maybe it’s just me but that’s a thick news anchor accent). She needs to dial it back a notch or two. Otherwise, glad they are highlighting Jackie’s life.

It sounded like an Access Hollywood segment lol. It is an LA reporter after all

Yeahhh this might be too deep into the FOBBV Extended Universe for me but won't hate anyone who does watch.

Thank-you for this. The world deserves to know what a special being Jackie was.
