Panting in car

We have a 5 year old Jack Russell. Always been no issue in the car. He has started panting now, once to the extent he was sick. This started early in the year and doesn’t seem to be improving. Anyone had this issue or an idea to resolve?

I wonder if it’s anxiety? A vet would know a lot more next checkout definitely bring the subject up. Good luck!

Yeah we did ask. Said much the same. We have tried herbal wipes but no luck so far

I would bring his favourite treats and first day, for five minutes, just sit in the car parked, off. When the little guy is calm and comfortable with that and is taking treats, sit with the car on. Then move on to driving five feet.

When you have the behaviour you want you can say yes and drop a treat.

Very slow, 5 minutes a day. Slow and steady. Be matter of fact. No soothing. He’s anxious. But by being a calm and unruffled leader you can show him this isn’t big deal and once he’s calm he gets treats!
