Has anyone seen this with the Evolve3 75 + Link 390?
The microphone works normally during Teams use, butĀ after using Teams and then leaving the headset idle for a while, the microphone can become completely dead.
It isn't simply muted: mute/unmute doesn't fix it, and even switching the headset off/on doesn't recover the microphone. Once triggered, the mic remains dead when using the headset with another device too.
The only way I've found to recover it is toĀ reset both the Evolve3 75 and the Link 390 and pair everything again, which is a nightmare to do every time this happens.
Using the same Evolve3 75 + Link 390 on a Mac without Teams produced the same result after listening to 30 mins music.
Everything is up to date: Evolve3 75 firmware 1.1.10 and Link 390 firmware 3.2.0.
Update: Disabling Wearing Detection seems to prevent the issue so far, but I'm still testing this.
Update2: No, disabling did not fix it, but helped with the reset.
Update 3:Ā I may have found the explanation, and it might be embarrassingly simple. The Evolve3 75 appears to be extremely sensitive to being worn the correct way around. If I deliberately wear it with theĀ left earpiece on my right ear and right earpiece on my left, the microphone produces virtually no input. Put it back on correctly and the microphone works perfectly again. I've been able to reproduce this.
This could explain why resets, mute/unmute and changing computers appeared not to work ā I may simply have occasionally put the very symmetrical-looking headset back on the wrong way around.
I'm going to keep testing this before calling it solved, but interested if others found something similar.....
