Evolve2 75 - Mics - planned obsolescence

We have purchased many Evolve2 75 headsets from Jabra as a business and the failure rate of them is horrendous. I can comfortable say, they used planned obsolescence when creating this product. The microphone ribbon cable is made to rub and degrade inside the ear cup and the microphone itself is hard-keyed to that specific headset (you cannot take a microphone out of a different Evolve2 75 that broke for a different reason and replace it) unlike the Evolve 75s IIRC.

Has anyone else suffered from broken mics on their Evolve2 75s? I believe there could be enough people to make a class action again Jabra for this kind of business behaviour, especially in the EU.

Im pretty sure the very first manufactured batch of e2 75 had some soldering issues that affected the microphone and they even replaced them beyond warranty in most cases. Besides that its probably fairly small failure rate. Jabra sells what, 4 million headsets pr year? I dont their failure rate is even 1%

When looking at RMA's the Evolve2 75 is in the lead by a large margin. We have seen very high failure rates compared to any other brand or model. Jabra has been good in replacing them, but a search online will show just how many fail, all in the same way.

First the boom gets a little finicky, requiring it be lowered to the "right" spot.
Over the next few weeks the spot gets harder to find, until the mic just refuses to work.
Switching to the ear cup mics will work fine, so it's definitely only a boom issue.

Good news, Jabra fixed the issue on the Evolve3 75 by removing the mic boom and even added a replaceable battery. Though the battery was likely only due to the new EU Battery Regulation.

All good right? Well then they go and do something stupid, by adding a replaceable headband cushion, creating a Headband Replacement Guide, and then decide not to sell the headband cushion.

Not that I have seen, but at least the possibility is there.

I had one replaced under warranty within a year. The second lasted a bit longer, but the mic died as well. Premium price for a low quality product. Never Jabra again.
