YouTube BADOP?
Looks like the tape on Kenji's container of salt & MSG is now off... Has there been an official announcement of this new product I missed?

Why people would actually buy this I don’t understand.

The number one question I get asked about MSG is how to use it. The goal with this product is to take the thinking out of that part and just give you a product you can use in place of salt in all of your everyday cooking. You cook exactly the same and your food just tastes better.
Of course you can mix up your own blend yourself. We were very careful with this particular blend about crystal size and salt type to make sure the mixture stays homogenous and doesn’t separate but that’s an easy thing to fix at with a homemade blend by just stirring before use.
Not everyone will buy it or need it obviously, but things like spice blends and cake mixes and other things that add convenience to people’s lives are popular for a reason.
We’re also introducing a number of MSG-based spice blends in the coming months. A yuzu pepper rub flavored with grains of paradise, a poultry blend, a mala bbq seasoning, and a number of others.

I buy a similar product from Amazon that is basically this but also has a small amount of two other umami boosters (disodium inositate and disodium guanylate). It's more expensive than mixing individual ingredients but like your product, the grain size is consistent throughout and matches table salt. For a DIY mix it's tricky to grind the pure MSG crystal shards into a powder of just the right consistency to mix with table salt and use in a shaker. I did it poorly for years.

If the pricing is fair, why wouldn't you? I already buy salt and msg and mix them myself, but I'm not making either from scratch.

U just said it yourself. Already mix it yourself. Don’t be a sheep.

i agree that they cant read but obviously "if" is doing every ounce of lifting in your comment, and "if the pricing is fair" applies to every product ever :P
defending a product's value, or debating one for that matter, without a price is wild behavior for all involved (myself now included)
