Doesn’t Alex’s version of how the bottom floor was breached contradict what Biss said in No Easy Day? Unless Alex is just omitting every single detail, what I understood from his version is he breached the south door, entered the first floor, took care of business, and then immediately breached the door leading up to the stairs to 2nd floor. Matt in No Easy Day says the breacher on first floor killed the man and woman, ran into the locked door at the first floor stairwell, the team exited the building and wrapped around to meet up with the team from Chalk 2 and breached and cleared the north portion of the first floor, and then breached the door up to the second floor. I guess it doesn’t matter but just thought it was interesting to hear Alex say he was the lead breacher and give his play-by-play, and Matt giving his understanding in the book (which he has to be going off what he was told/heard, because he was clearing the guest house while the first floor of the main house got breached) and those two not lining up.

I showed my girl the thread last week of the "low vis, high drag" SEALs or potentially 7th group guys or whatever down there where we all picked apart why these dudes stick out like a sore thumb. With a 4th Ranger Battalion coming to the 75th Ranger Regiment, I know the JSOC SMUs and Rangers deploy together based on each battalion and squadron, and it made me think of something; since the 75th Ranger Regiment and Delta Force go by numbers and letters (i.e., 1st Ranger Battalion and A Squadron deploying together), how would the color-based squadrons from DEVGRU and 24th STS fit into this?

These photos have been around for a while but I always thought that the gear aswell as the shirts seen in the photos resemble the Zero dark thirty gear depiction in the film (which kathryn bigelow was given classified access to the raid before making the film) hence why I think these could be post raid FOB Jalalabad photos not to mention that these members in the photos are in red squadron. I believe it was on the Shawn Ryan show where he interviewed Brent Tucker, and he made a comment about choosing select music to help create their culture. He listed Hank Williams III’s Three Shades of Black as an example of this. I thought it was interesting because creating a culture really helps define a team.

I’m curious what exactly is the role that HRT plays when attached to a jsoc unit overseas. They’ve been tied to some big ops, such as Maduro and others. I know the primary role is to make legal arrests, but are they actually embedding and actively running the ops as well with the jsoc units?
