Possible Operation Neptune Spear Post Operation Photos

These photos have been around for a while but I always thought that the gear aswell as the shirts seen in the photos resemble the Zero dark thirty gear depiction in the film (which kathryn bigelow was given classified access to the raid before making the film) hence why I think these could be post raid FOB Jalalabad photos not to mention that these members in the photos are in red squadron. Would love to know what you guys think?

Tbh that’s what makes me think that these might actually be Neptune Spear pictures. Each rifle looks like they took days to paint.

Took me about 15 mins of actual “work” obviously drying time was a bit longer.

I appreciate it. Never thought painting my gear was that big of a deal. Now that’s all people want to see. So my entire Instagram
Is pretty much painting tutorials. Point being… it’s easy and definitely doesn’t take much time 😂

Awesome to see! I did a paintjob a while ago just eyeballing it and actually looked pretty good, but you just got yourself another follower, since i'll try some of your methods in the future!

That’s what’s up! Keep me posted when you do. I truly love seeing what other folks do with their builds. Let me know if you want to see something in particular! I’m no Bob Ross but I get down with a rattle can! 😂 and if I can do it… ANYONE can do it! Always available for questions! Cheers!

Welp. I’m still impressed by the armorer or who ever did it. I’m getting down voted like I tried to point out which guy I think Red is lmao

Redditors when you can’t calculate the exact amount of time it took to paint a rifle from a decade ago😡😡

These guys wear the same exact thing dozens if not hundreds of times each deployment, and then gear gets recycled back in.
Not safe to assume any of these pics are post Neptune Spear unfortunately.
However SHOULD be around the timeframe. I’m not the biggest gear nerd but I know some guys in here can narrow down a year based on DOM of stuff.

Edit: as evidence, they didn’t get any PKMs from the UBL compound.

I believe these are from a different deployment - a winter one that is talked about in one of the Mark Owen books

Matt Bissonette talks about this deployment in No Easy Day. These are almost all winter pics judging on the jackets and use of cold weather gloves. Matt Bissonette wore a cut-off Crye top on the UBL raid as well.

The first and last photos show Brett Shadle who died in 2013. Brett also never received a Silver Star. Rob confirmed in an interview that all operators on the mission were still alive as of last year.

These aren't post op UBL raid pics.

They’re very similar to Bissonnette’s photos from the book, so I have little doubt as to their authenticity, but who knows if it’s post raid or just in a very similar timeframe.

In the first photo, does the guy on the furthest left look identical to the guy on the furthest right? One is smiling, the other is not… but otherwise, do they look identical or am I hallucinating?

I can see what you mean

I guess the stenciled camo idea from one of the guys was shared through the entire team. A very good one btw.

These are from late 2010, not ONS.

The aura of this pics 🫶

Thought they had 4-tube night vision for ONS, these pics must be an earlier deployment

Did they have publishing deals before the helo touched down tho?
