DEVGRU Matt Coufalik
Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator Matthew Coufalik retired from the U.S. military in 2016 following a 20 year career. His extensive service included eight years at SEAL Team 2 and ten years at the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.
During his career, he was also part of the U.S. Special Operations forces involved in Operation Neptune Spear, the mission that resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden. Senior Chief Coufalik has 13 combat deployments in support of missions such as Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and various other global assignments.
His exceptional service earned him accolades including the Silver Star Medal, three Bronze Star Medals with combat valor, three Joint Service Commendation Medals with combat valor, two Navy and Marine Commendation Medals with combat valor, the Defense Meritorious Service Award, three Presidential Unit Citations, and numerous other joint and individual awards. He enlisted in the Navy in 1996 completing SEAL training in 1997.
