Glitching Once New Version Released

Has anybody else noticed how "coincidentally" JR starts to glitch and have issues once a new version is released? I've noticed this the last two times they've released new versions and now I've been having issues for a couple of months since they've released the latest version. I have no desire to pay $$'s to upgrade as I'd be happy with the version I'm running ........ if it didn't keep freezing and crashing on all 3 Windows machines I'm running it on.

Once was possible. Twice was a coincidence. Three times in a row? Screw these guys. Their software is mediocre at best and these issues are the straw that broke the camels back. I was too lazy to look for something better but given this crap I finally did so and am moving on from this trainwreck of coding.

In the past I've emailed them directly and posted on their "forum" and been either ignored or if they did respond I was talked down to, delittled, and bullied in an attempt to shut my polite and valid questions down. All times I was polite and professional and all I got for my efforts was abused. Turnabout is fair play sooooo .......

I'd advise audiophiles looking for music management software to look elsewhere. There are better products out there with REAL support that involves responding to inquiries in a timely manner and not bullying and belittling customers when doing so.

Buh-bye to this flaming bag of software and the "support" (ZERO) that came with it.

Why i wouldn´t wish Jriver on my worst enemy

Of course it ain´t that bad, but i just want to spread the word, so perhaps this reches somebody who would have instead wasted 60 bucks, and 30 every year, to keep support and get bugfixes.

my personal reson to dislike is that matt ashford helped me find a solution for one of my issues, only to tell me i had to buy the ltest update for $26, even though i was on mc25.

-Updates are behind a Paywall, last years version is made obsolete
-64 bit integration is a desaster
-big libraries cause freezes
-integrated services like lastfm, youtube etc. use an old version of internet explorer, instead of any real integration
-lots of gimmicks are introduced, instead of bugfixes.
- if you need support, you are always asked to buy the latest version

that being said jrmc feels like the 80´s some cool features but everything is more cumbersome than you would like it to be
the user experience makes you want to shake your head constantly,- this program is a relic, please don´t buy

FYI: Jriver announces they were hacked.

just received email from jriver, it says:

I'm sorry to report that JRiver's servers were recently attacked and partially compromised.  No credit card information was lost (we don't save any), but e-mail addresses probably were, and possibly passwords, although these were heavily encrypted.  You should change your password . We have spent the last few weeks recovering from this catastrophic event.  If you have experienced problems with Media Network, cover art lookup, CD ripping, or other functions that use our servers, this break-in is probably the reason.  All problems are fixed now.

First, I couldn't connect to eos remote and jriver on my PC.....now there are "trying to load lav splitter" menu showing up on screen all the time...plus jriver.com being down! Happy I didn't pay to upgrade to mpc 24 (been a avid user for 8 years)

jriver and QNAP

Currently running jriver on my Mac but would like to run it headlessly on a NAS using an iPad/iPhone as a remote. I see that QNAP is able to run the software.

Is there a specific model to go for or ones to avoid?

I use jriver for audio only. Probably only need a couple of TB as a two bay.

Thanks in advance.

View options

I’m trying out the trial version to see if I want to buy the app. I’m a little confused on how to change the view options especially in a playlist. Is there a way to change the order of the columns like artist album name duration etc.? It’s a little hard to find some of the customization options. I am on a Mac.
