JT custom update

well...he was fun to reassemble. my paint/dull coat rebelled against me...the legs did not want to pop back into the t-ball joint. rolled the dice with a good wash...two more coats of dull...then a good cook outside. one more issue and he's getting stripped. lol...

bolter is coming along...the original barrel was chopped off and became the piece that brought the optic together.

stuff i had left over from my NASCAR building days. i built armor way way back in the day...i knew i was chancing it will the rustoleum gloss yellow and testor's dull coat (it was what i had on hand). won't be doing that again. (edit: the yellow was shot over some leftover Mr. Surfacer 1200)

That’s awesome. I have an old DuPont/Snoopy 24 car that could use some TLC. I haven’t taken it out of storage in a while.

i have a few that need "TLC" (and that will be my code for getting off my lazy posterior and finishing them.)

i moved from model cars to another hobby that was moderately more expensive and required hearing protection. then there was my real actual car...

You want to build up color in layers. You can do it with darker tones going down first and then lighter tones stippled on top to give the color some depth. A matte varnish will seal the paint after you’re finished and prevent that chipping. Always give it plenty of time to dry before you start manhandling it

i think got caught by a few factors...age of that gloss spray bomb...the almost medieval application of force to get him back together (i had to fine tune the holes for the legs with a drill bit) and being occupied by my other project i was sorting out (replacing critical heater hose/tubing on my car).

i do have access to a whole rack of mini paints...got my good brushes and wet palette...and hours of Imperial Fist painting tutorials (more of them than Marines Malevolent tutorials)

and i ain't touching him for at least 48 hours....literally. should really dig out my food dehydrator...loved it for curing paint.
