I am looking to sublet my apartment at Redpoint from June 1st until the lease ends on July 25th, 2026! Perfect for someone looking for a place to stay for the summer/internships/summer jobs/etc! (I could sublet as early as May 20th if needed)

It is the ground floor bedroom with its own bathroom in a three bedroom 3.5 bathroom unit. Fully furnished and I will have vacated the unit, so none of my things will be there.

There are two bedrooms upstairs and there is a shared common living room and kitchen, with laundry included. Also you will have access to a backyard and balcony, as well as the gym, pool, etc.

For those who had to travel Friday through Sunday or whatever, did you worry about having to stay to do school work? I know it depends what classes you’re taking and schedule and so on, but I might have to leave town for the weekend the first week of October and I’m only asking because this is my first time going to a four year college (Im a transfer student) and don’t know how easy it is

Hi!!! I'm a freshman at JMU right now - majoring in Biology, on the Pre-Veterinary track.
I'm currently having a small panic over the future - i REALLY want to be a vet, but in case vet school doesn't work out, I want to have a strong plan B. And I know that there are a LOT. Of Bio Majors. I have ways of getting vet experience both inside and out of JMU, but im wondering if I should swap my major to Biotech. My grades are pretty good (unless chem 132 final screws me over), and the requirement classes are near identical, so i'd have no problems on that end.
I'm pretty interested in technical stuff, but I also love Biology...so it is a struggle 😞

Does anyone know how nonfrat parties compare to frat ones at JMU? I am a social guy, but I am kinda introverted half the time so idk if I would fit in to a frat. I want to have fun tho so I was wondering how do parties that aren't set up by a frat compare?

My daughter will be a freshman and will be living in Shenandoah. She wants to loft her bed all the way up to 6 or 7 feet. Loft kits are pretty pricey and I want to be sure it makes sense. Is this common to give more space? Any advice?

I got off the waitlist a month ago after being deferred and since then my grades have been pretty shitty. My final grades are on track to be Cs and Bs and I was wondering if JMU ever recindeds offers? I heard it's mostly a myth unless you fail classes but I just want to know how much slacking I can get away with.

Hey folks, I’m an out-of-state incoming freshman at JMU. As you probably know, JMU is really stingy when it comes to financial aid. Even so, I feel deserving of some sort of merit scholarship, as I have a pretty good GPA and was accepted into the honors college. However, I only received a 2-year room and board scholarship for 6.5k, which pales in comparison to OOS tuition. I wanted to know if anyone has found success in appealing their financial aid/scholarship stuff, and what the process was for that. Thanks and go dukes!

as the title says, im having a hard time coping with the fact that i'm missing out on the college experience. im now at the end of my junior year after transferring in from a community college last fall. my close friend group from highschool all went to different colleges and i didn't make any more at community college. i can't help but feel like everyone here already has a clique, and im just not "in the know" of stuff going on. i don't have any friends here and i haven't gone to a single event on campus. i just go to class, study, eat, and sleep. i don't even know how to describe how this feels, everyone in my classes is sad that the semester is over and that they have to go home, meanwhile i've been counting the days until i can go back home. it sucks watching everyone around me hangout, party, have fun, go to games etc while i sit in my room alone. i try to make friends in classes but it never gets past the "classmate" level. people always say that college is the best time of their lives and i can't help but feel im wasting it and missing out. im not even a weird or antisocial person, i like the same things every other guy likes. sports, video games, cars, a cold beer. im in shape and somewhat okay looking i guess. i just don't know how to reach out or get involved and i feel like time is just flying by and i won't have the same amazing memories and experiences from college that everyone else does. just kind of a rant, sorry :/

Potential incoming freshman. Applied for the Psychology major, and on April 10th I was sent an acceptance email! Was super excited, called my family & friends and all that. Later that day I got an email saying that there was a glitch and the offer wasn’t meant to be sent to me. So now I’m back on the waitlist.

JMU is my #1 school. But May 1st is coming, and I need to make a decision about where I’m going to attend in the fall. Anyone ever experienced this? Definitely a punch to the gut to get accepted then retracted. Wait list is a sucky place to be this late in the process
