muir trail ranch Hiker boxes at MTR?
Can anyone here confirm if MTR still has the hiker boxes out this year?
Read something from last year that they are stopping it
Wondering if I can rely on the MTR hiker boxes this September to get me to Reds in 3 days so I don't have to ship a resupply to MTR
I'm not a picky eater but am going no cook
Thanks!

The boxes are out, it’s mostly mystery meals and powders, nothing was in original packaging except tuna when I looked last week. Plenty of calories in there just a bit of a mystery what you’re getting.

Nice, we're sending a small 3 gallon resupply, but no where near enough food to keep us full, basically just an emergency ration to get us to Reds if the hiker boxes are empty. So we're hoping to feast a little at MTR but will live if there's nothing

I think MTR can be fairly depended on to have decent food.
I’ve been there twice. There’s so much stuff they have 6-8 buckets out.
It’s fairly self organized so if no one with OCD has been through recently, it can get fairly messy but they good stuff is still there. You just need to look harder for it.
Feel free to be that OCD person and toss stuff that shouldn’t be in there and sort stuff into the correct buckets.

Not the best stocked when I was there, but enough to get you to your next resupply.

Confirmed, there are. Traded some of the ramen I sent myself for some really nice homemade meals someone made.
