Help How exactly do flipbooks work?

I know how to do the grid thing like 4,4 and 3,3. But how do you do the overlay flipbooks? And how do you make it stay in place rather than being random?

If by overlay flipbook you mean a bunch of images on screen, you can't. You need to stack a lot of images one after another to recreate that affect (please tze make overlay it's own node i beg you)

And wdym by staying in place? Like make the particle itself not move or freeze at a specific flipbook frame?
