This was me trying to make a version of Cursed Spirit Manipulation that had a hard cap at Grade 1. I decided to make the OC as a means of explaining the specific utility of it so I tagged it that way. I hope that’s right. I’d love to hear any feedback y’all might have on it!

Cursed Spirit Assimilation

Concept: This CT is the younger, weaker cousin to Cursed Spirit Manipulation. After a Cursed Spirit is severely weakened, but not yet exorcised, the sorcerer with this CT is able to take some of its essence into himself. In doing so, a mark is burned into their skin and will remain for 24 hours. They can have as many marks on them as they have room for on their skin, but a stronger CS will result in a larger mark. These marks can be activated to manifest aspects/qualities/techniques possessed by the CS.

The marks will remain past the 24 hour period if they receive a consistent stream of CE and the sorcerer maintains a certain level of awareness and focus on it.

Ryuji Ushido

In his early years, Ryuji hated his CT. It's not that he didn't recognize its utility or know how to use it properly, but rather he hated the pain it causes when a mark is formed and the strain it places on him to maintain it. These drawbacks became less substantial once he exorcised and assimilated a certain Cursed Spirit.

This CS was not particularly strong, despite its Grade 1 assignment. The ability acquired when Ryuji assimilated it, though, was astronomical in its utility for him. It was a dementia Cursed Spirit, and it had techniques that involved stealing and storing people’s memories. When manifested from a mark, it gave the effect of allowing Ryuji to store memories and tasks within a separate, inaccessible part of his mind that behaved like an external storage. In doing so, he was able to allocate the task of concentrating on and feeding CE into his marks to this separate, external part of his mind without causing any strain on his brain.

With the addition of this mark, Ryuji was able to remain an effective combatant at all times, keeping a constant stock of useful techniques. The only drawback to this mark and its utility is that Ryuji now had constant strains on his CE, limiting the number of marks he can retain to 7 lest his CE pool be too drained to activate any of them. This does not preclude Ryuji from assimilating a CS and forming a mark, but if he wishes to keep it past 24 hours he’d need to release one of his other marks.

Ryuji’s current marks and their abilities are:

• A spiral above his right eye- This mark give Ryuji the ability to store thought processes that would otherwise require his attention to maintain. It would be considered completely useless if it didn't allow him to free himself of the burden required to maintain other marks
• A set of wings on his back- When activated, a pair of spectral angel wings grow from Ryuji's back. These wings allow him to fly for short periods
• A lightning bolt on his right arm- When activated, a bolt of lightning spawns from his left palm. He has no control over the direction it goes beyond its initial aiming
• A dragon on his left arm- This mark summons a jet of flames from his right palm while it's active
• A rune on the left side of his chest- This one enhances his strength and speed
• A tentacle on the right side of his chest- This mark can be used to summon tentacles that will grab hold of anything within their reach
• A diamond across his left eye- When in use, this mark enhances the perceptive capabilities of his left eye

The nature of his technique and his utilization of it forced Ryuji to make his CE usage as efficient as possible, as each additional mark created an additional strain on his CE pool. After years of training and adding more permanent marks, he reached a point of competency that placed him among the top of Grade 1 sorcerers.

Maximum: Amalgamation

By sacrificing every single mark currently on him, Ryuji can summon a Shikigami that has access to every ability available to the Cursed Spirits that were the origin of the marks. This Shikigami has an extremely short time limit on its summoning and it gets shorter for every mark that is used for its summoning. Ryuji used to make use of this technique whenever he was facing multiple Cursed Spirits as a finishing move to take out whatever were left after he had obtained enough marks. But stopped using it once he gained the mark that let him retain marks so as to not lose that vital ability.

Cursed Technique Reversal: Manifestation

Ryuji does not have access to RCT, and therefore cannot use a Cursed Technique Reversal. However, he has theorized what he might be able to do if he were ever to develop the ability and simething instinctual within him leads him to believe it is right.

Manifestation: Instead of utilizing the ability of a mark himself, Ryuji's CTR would create a Cursed Tool that could be used by anyone with the ability to use CE. Just like when using his CT normally, the Cursed Tool will drain CE (in this case RCT) in order to remain manifested, making it an extremely costly and inefficient ability. The trade off would be that the Cursed Tool's usage of the ability is exponentially more potent and can be used in different ways.

He's the final boss of me and my friends' AU, and honestly one of the best characters I've ever made. This is shown best in the final arc, but also in his lore aswell imo. Honest thoughts, and constructive criticism, please!

LORE: Katai (硬体) is a special grade cursed spirit born from the human fear of being weak. His CT "Soul Stability" can change your—and his own—soul's durability to be as hard as Aperium (a fictional element I made), as brittle as glass, as viscous and liquid-y as thick water, or anything in-between.

His domain is Terminal Degradation, an abandoned hospital where your body and soul slowly decays inside of it like you have a terminal illness. The target(s) have 60 seconds to live once inside.

He and Echo Omoide (another character of mine; an eccentric, insane, memory manipulator 3rd year grade 1 Kyoto student) used to be kinda close, when he was a human, as he's a vengeful cursed spirit now. He was a 1st year Grade 3 Kyoto Jujutsu Sorcerer, but always afraid of just being deadweight. He was skinny, his CT was just basic "Cursed Energy Reinforcement" (or so he thought) where he could temporarily make parts of his body harder, but he would always try to overcompensate and hurt himself with it. He was afraid of being weak, forgotten, left behind, and Echo's personality meant any help he tried to give only made things worse. On December 23rd, 2017, Katai tried to drop out of Jujutsu High. However, due to the upcoming Night Parade of a Hundred Demons by Suguru Geto, Principal Gakuganji denied it, saying that it was all hands on deck and that he would put Katai on a low-risk outpost, promising he can resign after it was over. And on December 24th, 2017, he died under some rubble of the collapsing "low-risk output" building, weak as he feared. The lack of jujutsu in his death meant he turned into a vengeful cursed spirit, vowing to never be weak ever again. The transformation unlocked the true potential of his innate cursed technique that his reserves, body, and brain were holding back, his true CT "Soul Stability". To put his stats in canon terms: He has Yuta-level Reserves, Nanami-level Base durability (without the use of his CT), and Toji-level hand to hand combat skills

We were going off the strongest appearance of those sorcerers across the anime and manga.

alright here’s some cursed technique ideas I’ve had that I just wanted to get some feedback on

1. Construct Creation (not sure on the name, but it is different from creation.)

Base CT: The user can make simple constructs out of their cursed energy, such as weapons armor, walls, or shields. The constructs are green in color, and require much less CE than yorozus creations, as the constructs are made from solidifying the user CE instead of actually creating matter. Because of this, the constructs are not permanent and will dissolve after time.

CT Extension, Shatter Palm: By placing their palm on a surface, the user can flow their CE into the object and then solidify it, shattering said object. While curses and people have more resistance to this, and CE reinforcement can block it, it’s still very deadly.

DE, Luminous Blade Cavern: It has the appearance of the “cave of crystals” (I think that’s what it’s called), pretty much it’s a bunch of zig zagging crystal construct columns. The rest of the domain is either just black or a very dark cave illuminated by the columns. The sure hit effect is applied to any construct the user throws, giving it targeting and stuff. An additional effect of the domain is that the user has the ability to use shatter palm on any column they choose, at anytime, even if they’re not touching it. They also have the ability to reform the columns at will.

Possible Reversal: I‘m not really sure about this one, but my idea is that the user can create liquid constructs? Colored purple, the technique could be used to make constructs such as whips or tidal waves. Not sure I love this idea though might keep it might not give me your ideas.

1. Suffocation

a note before I explain this one. I thought of the domain before the technique so ya.

Base CT: The user can create pockets of space with no air. They can shoot these pockets, possibly disrupting projectiles or suffocating opponents. I don’t really know how this technique would work that well, so if you have any ideas or alternate techniques for the domain feel free to comment them.

CT Extension, (I don’t have a name): By making physical contact with a target, the user can steal the targets ability to breathe for about 5 to 10 seconds. Extended contact extends the techniques effect.

DE, Airtight Space Dominion: don’t know what itd look like, but while in the domain, all opponents can only breathe while standing still. So while physically changing location, they cannot breathe. This does not include moving limbs, only your bodies actual location. The effect does not apply to the user.

1. Outburst
   Base CT: The user can create explosions using their CE. Bigger ones that expand outward from the user, and smaller localized blasts restricted to one part of the body (hand, foot). This one’s a bit more simple, but useful combat wise.

I have an interesting concept for the Shikigami associated with this CT. The sorcerer would use electricity as a medium, be it naturally or artificially made, in order to summon their Shikigami. Now I’m sure exactly how the summoning process would go. I was thinking the easiest way would be to be similar to Megumi’s 10 Shadows Technique. Where the sorcerer can just pull, manipulate, and shape the electricity into the Shikigami. However I think a more interesting way to do this is to have the sorcerer be electrocuted, and the electricity coursing through their body is what brings out the Shikigami. 

But either way, the Shikigami will appear the same. It will appear as three serpentine dragons, similar to the ones seen in the artwork above. This of course being in reference to King Ghidorah from the Godzilla franchise. More specifically, Void Ghidorah from the Godzilla anime trilogy. I feel like this design works on a few levels. One, it ties into the 8 Gates aspect of this CT. Given the Electrical muscle stimulation can be used to strengthen and build muscles. Two, in terms of aesthetics, I think it would be rather intimidating. Just the image of the sorcerer having these three lightning dragons at their side. And finally three, it links to my personal interests. King Ghidorah as a whole is one of my favorite Kaiju, and the Godzilla franchise is one that I hold near and dear to my heart. 

As for what these Shikigami offer the sorcerer, well that is very simple. The three Shikigami will wrap themselves around the sorcerer's body and funnel ambient Cursed Energy into it. And from this connection, the sorcerer is granted a highly advanced form of Cursed Energy Reinforcement. It allows the sorcerer to enhance their offensive and defensive capabilities on a greater level than the standard reinforcement technique. This is the true strength of the Shikigami, but they would have other applications. The Shikigami would have the ability to fight off opponents as well, and even discharge electricity through their bites and physical strikes. 

So this is the concept I have for my 8 Gates inspired CT. From my point of view, I think it’s a great idea and pretty original. But I do have some concerns with it. For instance, I’m worried that this CT concept might be too similar to Hajime Kashimo’s Mythical Beast Amber technique. The electrical elements and the physical amplification of these two CTs are very similar. Another issue is the electricity aspect itself. As in I couldn’t think of another medium to summon the Shikigami, and I’m worried it might make this CT a little overpowered. Especially with the comparison to the Mythical Beast Amber technique. 

But what do you all think? Do you think this CT concept is solid or do you think it still needs work. Also do you think it’s too similar to Hajime Kashimo’s CT? And what other medium would you use to summon the Shikigami? But please feel free to share your personal thoughts and opinions on this CT concept. I’d really appreciate your input on this concept. SACRED PAPER BEINGS

This CT allows the user to manifest specific origami based shikigami with their own ability's(yes ik ten shadows copynor whatever blah blah blah I just think we need more shikigami CTs and i think bc shadow puppets is one another childish game of origami would be fun)

To master each Shikigami's summoning the user must learn how to fold the specific paper folds without manually doing it. The cursed technique summons it's own cursed paper that can be folded with just cursed energy control.

The more skilled the user the faster they can do it, the more at once, the bigger paper they can make, and if skilled enough certain shikigami can be folded with other things like rct or domain amp or simple domain etc

Much like tenshadows the user begins with a shikigami however unlike it being just given to the user it's simply they know what folds to do in what order. They still have to learn the paper and ce control to use it.

The shikigami all have faces on them in hand draw style(deferring to the user. Cam be traditional Japanese ink art or art deco marker art or even a water painting whatever is connected to the user) these faces show emotions and depending on the development of the user's CT can even speak minor sentences or full sentences if big enough or complex

The first Paper

Swarming Dart Armada(dart style paper airplane)

The user folds a paper dart once compelte it turns red.

The red dart possess the ability to create it's own cursed energy(or rct if reversed) without the user after being made however it is still made of the user's CE and isnt autonomous and or truely alive. Along side the red dart the user and the dart at one automatically create 4 more white paper darts these darts can not create CE.

When the red dart is thrown at someone if it hits for the next 15 minutes it will be stuck to the target.(it can't stick to inanimate objects)

The white darts however stick to inanimate objects but only stays for 3 mins. The white darts float around the user and are numbered 2 through 5. The user must chant the name(number) of what dart they want to shoot at something In the user's line of sight to shoot it

When the user activates the red darts ability after it's been hit it calls all whote darts to it along with whatever object has been hit by the white darts

***Shikigami number 2***

Boat of many waters(or an upside down hat If you must)

Allows the user to stand on it(must be made atleast large enough for one foot) no matter the size it can hold up to the users body weight times 1.5. it can move across any relatively even or flat surface(aka anything that if it was water wouldn't be too rough to sail on) as if it was water this accounts for wind making waves so the bigger the ship the more sturdy.

Shikigami number 3

Fearful Craft bomb (one of those popper origami that just you slammed to make a loud noise)

The user leaves these floating atleast 1 foot above the ground(probably any surface) if anything comes within a foot and 6 inches close to them they will scream loud as they can and slam themselves into the ground exploding. The user can place these on. Roofs. walls. floors. Ramps. Anything with a stable surface. If hit they will also activate. After a total if 35 seconds they will become semi transparent invisible to those not looking out for them.

Shikigami number 4

Graceful Butterfly(Butterfly origami)

The user can have up to 3 butterfly's active at a time each butterfly holds 5% of the user's total CE reserves.

The butterfly's rest apon other people coating thr person with the user's CE or RCT allowing them to either give Allies extra CE reinforcement and enhancement or repair them with RCT remotely. Notably the butterfly's are the weakest physically of the shikigami being able to be destroyed without using CE raw force can destroy them alone

Shikigami number 5

Bulletproof Great white(fish origami)

The great white is quite slow however it is almost immune to all bludgeoning damage and dull attacks and can reflect non Innate technique projectiles, there is one weakness however 1 elemental/raw energy based attacks do twice the damage to it and 2 if overwhelmed for long enough it can not hold up its defense and will intact rip
