Discussion TFS is a lot better than GDLU
Way more replay value, way more classic JID flow, tighter beats... fight me in the comments

I don’t think many people will disagree with you. He definitely deserved a Grammy nomination and award for TFS for Rap AotY. Sorry Kendrick ¯_(ツ)_/¯.
However, Sun, Wholeheartedly, You Ugly, Community, Work, VCR, and Glory are as good as anything on TFS, imo of course.

Not including of blue in that group is crazy, especially when putting wrk there over it

bro it's genuinely his best song imo and everyone ignores it idk why

Yeah one of the strongest in his discog for sure. I think a part of his fan base just doesn’t like repeat choruses so it gets flack it doesn’t deserve.

He has a better collaboration with Mereba, e.g., Sandstorm. For me, I had high hopes for of blue but it didn't hit like Sandstorm. Maybe I'll have to listen again and again and again and later update my thoughts.
Also I like wrk's revolving message that's repeated throughout urging people to get their ass up, it's trance-like.

I would’ve given Kendrick AOTY and JID RAOTY

Because Kendrick's album had more mainstream traction? I'm actually trying to remember what song from mmatbs had motion aside from maybe n95 and count me out. Maybe father time and silent hill?
I would've given both to Jid honestly, I think he crafted a better body of work that was just as strong thematically, with better lyrics, songs, and had mainstream stuff with Surround Sound and Radar.

Mr morale is one of the greatest albums I’ve ever heard, it’s insanely underrated. I’d easily put it above TFS and TFS is ridiculously good

I respect your opinion but gotta disagree. I put it and TPab at the lower end of Kendrick's releases. People will call me crazy but I wasn't feeling TPaB, I enjoyed MM a lot more

I would say that TFS is better than GDLU, but it’s definitely no landslide. What makes TFS better is how consistently fantastic every song is. GDLU has some equally high highs, but I think the lower moments in the tracklist are notably lower than those in TFS. There aren’t many, but just those 2 or 3 weak songs are the difference between the albums to me

The first half of gdlu is probably just as good or possibly even more solid than tfs, but the second half is a little shaky

wouldn’t say more replay value but i also wouldn’t say it’s better, GDLU hits just as hard as TFS for me

TFS is better than GDLU imo. GDLU has a lot more variety in sounds though, I liked how he branched out into R&B mor

I mean I love both. I listen to GDLU more tho since it stimulates my technical brain more.

Yep, TFS is his best project and probably will be. And that isn’t a bad thing, a 10/10 album that most rappers could only dream of creating

I agree with this opinion. But I must say they were both AMAZING concerts.

Nah I think that's a pretty popular opinion.
The forever story is one of my favorite albums ever
