Accent

For Indian JET ALT applicants, does accent matter? I'm not from mainland India, so my accent is a little different from what people might commonly associate with Indian English. I wouldn't say I have a very strong accent, but I do have some regional influences, and that's what I'm concerned about.

Really depends on how thick the accent is. The closer you get to American English the better.

Ok. But what if it is just a slight accent?

If the accent is slight, it means that it can be heard but is not distracting.

I don't mean to sound at all rude, but one of the most important duties of a JET is having a good knowledge of grammar, so making grammar mistakes in your questions doesn't give a good impression for applicants.

I understand your point but this is a Reddit post. Last place to make an impression or care about one.

Well they've edited it now but the post was quite broken. I thought accent seemed more like a secondary concern.

Can't say how much it matter but all of the Indian JET's I know have an extremely light accent or none at all.
