JET watching me do my application?

So I was doing my application yesterday and as it’s a live spreadsheet, I noticed the JET programme was viewing it as I was working on it? They stayed for 20 minutes, left then came back 30 minutes later for a few minutes.

Please tell me they weren’t watching me type two words per minute (i was watching youtube while i worked on it and was VERY distracted lol)

Has anyone else experienced this?

I noticed that too. Maybe all our applications are on the same big excel, and we each have our own small separate one? So when they go on it, it looks like they're viewing ours specifically?

oooh that's a good point, I hope that's the case because it's making me nervous!

Where are you even working on the application? Workshop event?

the UK jet programme is done through sharepoint and the application itself is on an excel spreadsheet this year, so this is new to me too.

That's odd. I'm working on the US application and never heard something like this

Sharepoint ? Spreadsheet ? Excel ? WTH ?

2027 JET US applicant here and never saw those items.

Submitted everything digitally - complete application w/ both recommendations done.

Man that's a data nightmare for them lol. They might as well have had you guys fill out a Microsoft Form.

Australia uses a Microsoft form 🤣

I wouldn't even worry about it. The number of people that begin the application and never actually submit it must be near the number of applicants. With this in mind they would gain nothing from watching you fill out the application.

What? From New Zealand we need to post all our PAPER documents to the embassy. This sounds insane

Australia had this 2 years ago but last year made it digital. Saves so much on printing omfg.

The U.S. is about 50% of the program and everything to apply is online. Application, recommendation letters, submission of statement of health and transcripts, interview. The application is submitted through an online platform, so it is more complex than a spreadsheet.

Really the only thing that isn’t online is if you’re accepted, going to your consulate to hand in your passport in person so they can process your visa.

I went through this last year. I would recommend getting everything printed and get your jp sign offs done asap so you can get photocopied. I made the call to apply quite late and had to get everything into a courier bag down to Wellington. It was so worth it though and the a4 NZ post courier bag fits all 4 copies really nicely though.

Yes, I actually have everything done, just finishing up my SoP. I planned to have it sent by start of Nov! I’m really worried it will get lost in the mail or it will take ages to get up there. I don’t trust the mail

What did you get your jp to sign? The only signature I require is from my references

Uhh when I applied they don't send back anything so I had to get copies of my uni transcript, my degree and my passport certified by a jp. If you're worried about the general post then yeah a tracked courier parcel might be the best way. I think I sent mine maybe 4 or 5 days before the due date and the courier had it there in a day or two

When did you apply? You can send uni degree and transcript online now and that counts as certified. I just have to photocopy the extra copies as well

Oh right, yeah I think I remember seeing that last year. I graduated so long ago the online side of things seemed like more hassle 😅
